Hi,
I have just installed this on 3.7.1 PL and it is not working. I thought I read somewhere that it would work with this version?
I see the edit favorite smilies in the user control panel and I have gone into the Usergroups, clicked on "Go" and set it up in the Message Posting Interface Options section, but when I refreshed my page nothing shows up in the reply box. I have double checked everything and I don't see a Star and when I click on my smilie drop down box, it's still the default smilies I have.
I have enclosed two attachments so you can see what I am talking about
Thanks for any help you can give! My members are going to LOVE this!!
It might be an issue with an edit in functions_editor.php. Re-check it again as it should work, unless there's a conflicting code from another mod.
Umm...What version did you install it again? 3.7.1 didn't come out at that time.
Thank you, I will recheck the .php file again. I am using 3.6.7 PL1 Not sure what the heck I was thinking when I typed this up originally...sorry about the typo!
I don't seem to have ever thanked you for this mod...So um, thanks! I've been using this since October and my users love it. Its great for a forum where everyone is encouraged to submit their own smilies so our list just keeps growing, this way people can just put the smilies they like in their editor.
I don't know what I am doing wrong I have started over a couple of times and am still not getting it. I normally don't have this much trouble adding things to my site.
I am still not seeing any star or favorite smilies box like I first reported I followed the steps too. Any one have any ideas why it is not working for me?
FLMom, have you made sure to do the final two steps?
Quote:
STEP 6: In the AdminCP, go to 'Usergroup' -> 'Usergroup Manager' and click 'Go' to edit any of the usergroups (saving is not necessary, going to the page is all that's required).
STEP 7: Confirm and set (if necessary) the four new options in 'vBulletin Options' -> 'Message Posting Interface Options'.
FLMom, have you made sure to do the final two steps?
I have and then I even picked my 20 favorite smilies from the user control panel. Then when I go to make a post or even reply to a post I don't see any star or favorite smilies section
Then you've missed something in the edits to includes/functions_editor.php.
You might try uploading that file from the original vBulletin package and starting again - be careful though if you've installed other mods which may have affected that file.
Alternatively, go through that file step-by-step to ensure that all the required edits are there and in the correct places - there are several of them.
