Developer Last Online: Sep 2004 Show Printable Version Email this Page

Version: 3.0.0 Rating:
Released: 04-06-2004 Last Update: Never Installs: 109

No support by the author.

Features:
  • Displays vBCodes and other post code allowances.
  • Admins can edit & delete shouts from the Admin CP.
  • Built-in /me code.
  • Archive page and IFrame on forumhome for shouting and reading.
  • Archive page has multiple pages.
  • Stats on archive page.
  • Uses phrases for the Admin CP and shoutbox.
  • Users can edit and delete their own shouts.
  • Usergroup & Administrator permissions.
  • Find shouts by specific users (in the admin cp)
  • Seperate options for vBCodes allowances and what to display

If there's any features anyone wants added, I'll try and add them. I think I added everything people asked for in the previous version, apart from the upgrader, which will be added to the ZIP file when i've setup another test forum and added the previous version to it

There shouldn't be any problems, because I've tested the installer three times.
And I haven't had any problems with the actual shoutbox, or shout manager.

I'll attach some screenshots of all the custom scripts, if anyone asks for screenshots of the add ons for the permissions and stuff ill take them, dunno why anyone would want them tho...

This has only been tested on vB 3.0.0 GOLD

Installed fine.

You may wanna include telling installers that they MAY have to enable permissions for every usergroup as it is off by default if they forgot to edit their /includes/config.php file w/ "1" having access to changing admin permissions.

All is working well. It'd be nice to have some form of generic WYSIWYG interface though. Anyway to incorporate something similar to the one already provide in vb? Perhaps as a pop-up or something?

The ONLY reason I ask, would be to better choose colors instead of the bland black for everyone. They can use bbcode to change the color of course...but that may get old having to explain that to 'em.

Hmmmm....tried editing a shout...and it doesn't save. It goes to a blank page in the admincp. I can delete just fine...but not edit.

Also...there is no text for "Edit"...just to brackets "[]". "Delete" text is there. The "[]" is clickable...it takes me to the text of the shout I wish to edit...clicking save after the change however...does absolutely nothing to the shout itself though.

*edit*

Another request: Have the names of community staff (admins/mods) appear different to distinguish themselves from other members.

*zip updated*

you should be able to edit shouts with the new shout.php file, if you dont wanna download the new zip tho, just change this:
PHP Code:
print_form_header('shout''doupdate');
to this:
PHP Code:
print_form_header('shout''update');
in shout.php

i'll try and add the WYISWYG editor later, just about to go to bed now

What makes this shoutbox different from the other vb3.0.0 shoutbox released by Link14716 here https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=59985 ?

odd...
installed fine, but will not display shouts on Forumhome.. yes the template was modified, just shows a box and a < hr > ? You can add shouts on the main shouts page and it displays them there. Checked all usergroup permissions, etc.
There is no apparent way to add a shout from forumhome either.

Ideas?

I had your old version and on attempted to overwrite it with this one. I hit errors all over the place, and get:
Quote:
Unable to add cookies, header already sent.
File: /home/blah/public_html/forum/includes/init.php
Line: 903
I tried to back out the changes I made in the init.php to no avail. I know this is my screw up, and I am not blaming anyone, but can you tell me what other modifications the script does that would affect and result in the error above?
