Shoutbox Hack 1.04b

11/09/04 - Version 1.04b. Just an installer upgrade, nothing more. Nothing to see here, move along.

10/22/04 - Version 1.04a released. This is not an upgrade from 1.04. If you already have 1.04 installed, don't worry about this. This release just updates the installer and fixes any errors in it. If you had problems installing it last time, this should work better. If you need support, posting it here may get it answered, though posting at the board at GeekyDesigns.com is prefered.

This is the same hack formerly released by Link14716.

08/29/04: Shoutbox 1.04 is released, featuring a new installer system (using the Hack Installer System) and redone templates, as well as a few bug fixes. Enjoy.

Dont forget to click install!

Install Instructions:

NEW INSTALL/UPGRADE FROM 1.03 to Current
 
 1. Upload the contents of the 'upload' folder to your forums directory.
 2. Run http://www.yoursite.com/forums/install/hack_install.php
 3. Select "Shoutbox Hack" and then follow the instructions to install.
 4. Follow the directions in the readme files when it gets to that step, then finalize the install (by clicking the last link in the install).
 5. Enjoy your shoutbox!

Matrixgl did a template modification to make the shoutbit more like its vB2 counterpart and released it (tested on 1.03) here.

FOR THOSE WHO WANT SUPPORT, SPECIFY THIS INFORMATION OR BE IGNORED:

What is the exact error you recieve?
Where does the supposed error happen?
What vB version are you running?

This means that you already had it installed. You are trying to run the installer again and it tries to add a column that is already there.

Try removing the column first from the language table.

Well, just to have all my bases covered, here's my problem:

I've got problems with the SQL when I try to change usergroup permissions. First, I received this message:

I saw people here had had similar problems, and tried the previously suggested SQL queries to uninstall, as a prelude to reinstalling. The queries were:

ALTER TABLE language DROP phrasegroup_shoutbox;

DELETE FROM phrasetype WHERE phrasetypeid=716;

DROP TABLE IF EXISTS shoutbox_posts;

ALTER TABLE usergroup
DROP `shoutboxpermissions`,
DROP `shouthierarchy`,
DROP `shoutmaxdaily`;

ALTER TABLE user
DROP `shouts`,
DROP `shoutbanned`;

Then, when trying to uninstall the hack, I got this:

mysql error: Can't DROP 'phrasegroup_shoutbox'. Check that column/key exists

mysql error number: 1091

I'm still getting the error message when I try to change usergroups, and now my homepage is unaccessible; I'm just getting the generic database error message.

My site has been down because of this for over 24 hours now, and I don't know how to fix it. At this point, I'd be happy just getting the shoutbox uninstalled. Please, SOMEBODY help.
