But I do not see what the difference is with the new version.
Perhaps the way I use MGC is basic. Or perhaps the differences are in the code not the user level?
[/code]
Yes mainly in the code but I have tweaked some of the user parts to make them more user friendly.

Please do not think I am being rude or that I do not appreciate your hard work. It's a WONDERFUL piece of coding. The installation was excellently guided.
I just don't understand.
the majo addition to that version is that know other users could developp new commands for the chatbox and release them as xml files.

On forumhome this is not a problem. I copied the who's online code which is normally at the bottom, to the top. See screenshot.
This means user can see who is logged in.
User can then say hello and start chatting.
This is a HUGE part of why MGC works well. Without seeing who is logged in to the forums it is not possible to say hello except --- hello world - is anyone there? --- not satisfactory!
So the who's online (for forums) is very important to make MGC perfect.
But putting who's online (for the forums) on other pages is a big headache. I don't understand the construction of the other forum pages. There are bits on different templates that work together as a team - too complicated for me.
However MGC understands this clever stuff because in admincp you give me excellent simple options to put MGC on the other pages.
Can you tell me how to do this for the who's online code (for forums) --- it doesn't work to just copy the who's online code from forumhome. Must be php in header? or something that works OK in navbar but not in other places.
With this new version, you don't have to care about doing so
I have embedded a way to show who's online in the chatbox, you just have to activate the corresponding options and here it goes !

This is OK with MGC for logged in users because I set MGC as visible to registered members.
But when user first arrives before logging in it looks awful!
Because MGC is not there to fill the space next to the side collumn, the side column spreads all across the page - even though I set it to 110pixels.
This is not a tragedy as both my vbulletins are for members only. But it does not look elegant when user arrives.
What can I do to either
1) place an empty table there instead of MGC if MGC is not visible? - so MGC fils the space but does not display as a chat?
Maybe a notice: --- Forum Chatbox (you will see this service appear when you log in as a member) ---
OR
2) make the guest forums fill the MGC space if MGC does not display?
I haven't really understood your question. Could you make some little graphical sketch so that I can understand ?

Try editing the product and search in some of the uninstall codes if I haven't put on some line :
Code:
$vbulletin->$db
If you find one, replace it with :
Code:
$vbulletin->db
Then you should be able to run uninstall smoothly.

The time displays beside each line of chat is showing wrong. When it displays 09.00 it is really 9pm /21.00. When it shows pm it's really am.
In my screenshot just above the times showing 2.53 and 4.18 were not in the night but in the afternoon.
Not huge problem but maybe can fix?
I don't understand ? You mean that it doesn't show the right time in the chatbox ?
Have you changed the date display option somewhere in chatbox options ?
You havent followed install instructions carefully. You were supposed to remove old chatbox files and uninstall the two products linked to it before installing the new product.
To correct that, remove old chatbox files and uninstall old chatbox and old mgc custom perms products.

Oh really ? That's strange, the way I have handled it should now fix it.
This is handled like quick edit or quick reply in ajax, do you encounter problems with those other vbulletin features ?

Sure this is an option in the admincp.

No no the mp command is meant to allow users to send each other private chat but only the receiver or emitter of the private chat can see it.
grrrr.. it doesnt show in the arcade.... what going on?????
The integration in the arcade can only be done by activating the display chatbox on defined pages in a variable (not the one under the navbar).
Here is the process you must follow to achieve this integration :
- Go in the admincp in the "Display and Position" options
- Activate the option "Display the chatbox on defined pages of the forum in a variable"
- In the pages list, add "arcade" and then validate
- Open the arcade/functions/functions.php et search for "function do_output($output_array)"
- After the two line of globals, add : global $mgc_chatbox;
- Finally, edit the ARCADE template and add $mgc_cb_evo_var where you want the chatbox to appear
Oh sorry there is a mistake in the procedure, you must add :
Code:
global $mgc_chatbox_var;
instead of
Code:
global $mgc_chatbox;

Oh yes you're right ! there is a little bug for the unregistered users, will correct that.
About the usergroup default text color, what did you encountered exactly ? Which browser where you using ?
