[v1.6] Inferno RSS Forum Feeds Technology
Developer Last Online: Nov 2023
This hack was made purely by request, and the fact IPB will have a similar system as default functionality, i wouldn't like them to have a upper hand to vbulletin
v1.5 Updates: - Auto detect RSS settings system - Forum stats rebuilt correctly (last post info) v1.6 Updates: - Various bug fixes Description: This once added to your forum allows you to connect to any RSS feed you desire, once set up the system will automatically post data from the RSS feed into threads within a specified forum. Previews are available at the bottom, and an FAQ is built into the admin controls since I know not everyone will understand how to set up the options. Also an example to use a BBC UK News rss feed is below Example BBC UK News Feed: Feed Name: BBC UK News Feed Location: http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonl...t_page/rss.xml Feed Prefix: [BBC UK News] Feed From User: Assign users username of your own choice Feed Forum: Choose a forum you want threads to be posted into Feed Read Direction: Newest First Parent RSS Tag Name: channel Items RSS Tag Name: item Thread Title RSS Tag Name: title Thread Post RSS Construct: HTML Code:

Vbulletin 3.5.1
I give this mod a thumbs up! I installed this mod and have it working. Don't try to use google news rss feeds. They all kinds of formatting in the description. Went with yahoo. I am seeing a few glitches. Random characters are appearing in the message body. Example - http://www.snocrazy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=495 It might just be the feed from yahoo. I am also seeing off topic articles from them. Here is a sample of google news rss feed. Let me know if you find a way to make it work. -
-

Google Search: snowmobile

Google Search: snowmobile

-

Google Search: snowmobile

-

Filmmaker not guilty in snowmobile stunt death - CBC British Columbia (Audio)

Filmmaker not guilty in snowmobile stunt death
CBC British Columbia (Audio), Canada - 5 hours ago
A BC Supreme Court judge has decided there was not enough evidence to convict a Vancouver-area filmmaker in a snowmobile stunt that cost a young man his life. ...

|

I can't figured out where to upload the files too. Also, it keeps kicking me out of the Admin CP ever since I created the task. Any ideas on both questions? Thanks.

I got the install fixed but I'm still suffering login problems after this install. It seems to kick everyone out randomly and require login.

I have a forum that deals with missing people that 3 ladies run that have gotten actual laws passed in their states regarding missing people.
You don't even know how much easier it has made these ladies jobs that works tirelessly for a non profit org to get amber alert rss feeds . Thank You very much for this |

Love this mod, execpt for some duplicate posts and wish it didn't show up on the 'New Posts' section. You can prune the forum that you have these posts go in to which isn't a big deal, but all in all an excellent extension.
