Rather than clutter up the left column thread with this second product and confuse the issue further, I have made a separate product for those of you who want a column on the right side instead.

This can easily be combined with the left column product to have a column on both sides.

To use this with the left column product, change the header code to:
Code:
<!-- Left Column Code  -->
<table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
<tr>
<td width="160" valign="top" align="left">$leftcolumn</td>
<td valign="top">
<table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
<tr>
<td valign="top">
<!-- End Left Column Code -->

it's possibly because this is a custom template. Try adding it to below (or above) $right_column in either your header or footer template (I can't recall off the top of my head which on it is in for the right column - sorry)

This is because these scripts are third party scripts. I suggest removing the column from these pages. Alternatively it can be written to include them (I think) but it will not be a nice neat solution.

Thank you for the kind response! I hate to ask, but what would be the best solution for that? I'm unclear when this is global. Thanks again!

ok, you will need to open the scripts for those pages in a text editor (notepad or wordpad is good for this) and look for where it says something like
Code:
define('THIS_SCRIPT', 'index');
then use the instructions in post 129 to add the exclude, replacing adv_index with whatever your files have THIS_SCRIPT defined as. If you need to exclude it from more than one page use
Code:
<if condition="THIS_SCRIPT!='your_page' && THIS_SCRIPT!='another_page'">
replacing your_page and another_page with the correct text. You can add as many pages to the exclude as you need to with this.

There is no reason why it won't work in 3.6

For the width issue, what worked for me was removing

$spacer_close
$spacer_open

wherever it occurred - but only in the templates for the problem areas. For me it showed fine everywhere (even showthreads page) except for the Members list and the Calendar. I removed that from both of those templates and now all is good. Hope this helps someone.

Now the problem I am having, is that I would like the footer (the What's Going on box) to go the full width of the page. I accomplished that with the navbar by using that template instead of the header one, but I'd like to find a fix for the bottom if possible. I think it will look much cleaner that way.
