What does it do?

Features include global settings, advertisements allowing template conditionals, ad sharing and ad revenue sharing, timed advertisements, preset popular ad locations and functions such as sponsors, additional custom ad locations, random and static advertisements and its all very easy to use. You can use it for ordinary ads like adsense, banner rotations, or any content at all as well as using it to manage ads outside your forum too.

You can read in more detail about these and other features in the manual, which also contains some helpful notes and instructions, as well as the installation and upgrade instructions



If you are using autoinsertion and were using vB Ad Management before version 4.00, you will need to remove your old template edits or advertisements will appear multiple times. Just reverse the old instructions below.

* Find <!-- post $post[postid] popup menu --> and paste $postbit_advertisement above it in your postbit & postbit_legacy templates.
* Paste $forumbit_advertisement at the bottom of your forumhome_forumbit_level1_post and forumhome_forumbit_level2_post templates.
* Paste $threadbit_advertisement at the bottom of your threadbit template.
* Paste $footer_advertisement at the top of your footer template.
* Find $spacer_close in your footer template and below it paste $rightcolumn_advertisement.
* Find &nbsp; in your header template and replace it with $header_advertisement.
* Find $spacer_open in your header template and below it paste $leftcolumn_advertisement.

Ok everyone, just a little reminder here to those whom it applies and some unfortunate unpleasantness for which I apologise in advance. The copyright notice in the footer is not optional, you cannot remove it yourself or rename it to look like you wrote vB Ad Management yourself.

It's disrespectful to the amount of time I've put into developing it and giving pretty good support if I may say so, it's disrespectful to the honest individuals who paid money in exchange for the right to remove the copyright link and it's disrespectful to everyone who is considerate enough to appreciate the all the above and leave the copyright link displayed in their footer to help out. And that's quite a lot of people. Some of those are very big forums indeed. If they can do it, so can you.

Let me quote from vBulletin's License Agreement:

The Software may not be used for anything that would represent or is associated with an Intellectual Property violation, including, but not limited to, engaging in any activity that infringes or misappropriates the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights, trademarks, service marks, trade secrets, software piracy, and patents held by individuals, corporations, or other entities.

That is quite clear and it applies to every modification that has been contributed to this forum just as much as it does to anything else. vBulletin can and have before taken action against people who misappropriate other's work here. It is, after all, something of a personal subject to them.

So, if you are removing my copyright link or recrediting it to yourself (believe it or not, I've seen it) then now would really be the time to do the right thing. By which I mean put the link back. I can live with people messing me around, it's not pleasant but that's the way of the Internet. But when I have people giving me their sincere thanks and appreciation and perhaps even donating money as a mark of respect I get upset that there are others who care little enough to do as they please and make fools of those who are decent enough to be honest and I'm quite prepared to even the score on their behalf.

To those whom this does not apply, let me offer my sincerest thanks for your custom and respect of my work. I'm proud to see the amount of quality of the forums the vB Ad Management has been attached to, thank you very much to you all.

I was one that you just returned money to. I was hoping to get a copyright free edition for obvious reasons (you do great work and I don't want my competition to know) but I would like to donate to you anyway.

I put in a ton of time on this computer thing and the work you do saves me even more time (Actualy, I couldn't do it) as it does everyone else who uses your programs.

Copyright free would have been nice but I still want you to accept my money in appreciation for the work and time you have put in to this project.

I think everyone should show their appreciation (for every mod they use). If you got paid by everyone I'm sure you would have the incentive (and money) to create more excellent mods.

That's just my opinion.

Is there any support for an advertising page where advertisers can see various rates for stuff on the site, and in turn pay for the ads? The admin can then either approve or decline the ad?

Also, I want to set up premium memberships on my site, how will this hack fit in?

Thanks, I'll check into that. Would I be right in guessing that the error appears when you view a post individually and not as part of a thread? I could do with the details of when it happens please.

Thank you very much indeed, that's very kind of you. I am sorry to have had to stop doing brand-free because I know some people will just go elsewhere and I liked giving the option. But it was a small amount of money even for brand free and I would guess at least half the people who wanted brand-free paid the wrong amount, gave me the wrong contact details, didn't provide the required information, didn't read the instructions...basically it was just wasn't working and the money didn't cover the hassle.

Anyway, thank you. Don't hesitate to ask if you need help with something.

There is no support for advertisement submission at this time. It will fit in easily with Usergroups, you have full control over who can see them and in the case of adsharing, who can use them as well.

the copywrite info is showing like 4 times in my footer if i disable it in the products in admin one of them goes away but 3 stay, Any Help

That's no good. What happens if you disable all your other plugins except vB Ad Management?

The analytics are not being added to my pages. I have made all the template changes, added all the files, and turned on analytics as well as added my code. I checked the source of my page and it still isnt being added. Any ideas?
