Integration with vBulletin - Imageshack Image Upload

Hack Support

This hack is now discontinued - this means that while it will remain available for download and use, there will be no further updates, nor will support be provided as the thread is no longer monitored. But not to worry, you can now check out the new 3.8.x version of this hack which will work with v3.7.x, as well as with v3.6.12 (and maybe even earlier versions).

NOTE 1: You can not change the language/text in the Imageshack box as it is actually being hosted on their website, and this hack can in NO way control that, so please do not ask.

NOTE 2: I only provide an easy way of integrating Imageshack into your sites, and I am only providing support for the vBulletin integration.

vBulletin Version Compatibility

This hack can be used with both vBulletin v3.6.x and v3.7.x.


What Does This Hack Do?

This is an hack that adds the ability to upload image files to the Imageshack service and be given a url to post in your posts to show your now uploaded image, it is available (if enabled) when creating a new thread, new post, editing a post or doing a quick reply.

This hack has been added to the official ImageShack's 3rd Party Tools page - see ImageShack :: 3rdparty ::

You do not have to do any template changes like all other versions of this available here, and there is no release for this for v3.6.x.

AdminCP settings for this hack available in vBulletin Options > Imageshack Image Upload.
Settings that can be changed are:

1. Usergroup permissions - which groups will see the Imageshack Image Upload box
2. Choose which locations the Imageshack Image Upload are displayed
3. iFrame Upload Field Size - size of the upload input field
4. iFrame Width - width of the iframe
5. iFrame Height - height of the iframe
6. iFrame Text Color - color of the iframe (this setting will work instantly once Imageshack fix this, see post #33)
7. Auto-Template Search Text - leave alone unless you know what you are doing

Installation Instructions

1. Import product-jd_20070405.xml into vB using the AdminCP Product Manager. If upgrading then set Allow Overwrite to Yes.
2. In the Admin CP, select vBulletin Options > Imageshack Image Upload, and change the settings to enter usergroups that you want to use this (no usergroups can view the imageshack dialog box by default), which locations you want to display the imageshack dialog box and change other settings to your liking.
3. Enjoy the new addition to your posting arsenal !!!

Note: If you have highly customised templates or styles and the imageshack dialog box does not display after usergroup permissions are set, then you may need to manually add the contents of the imageshack template to the templates where you want the dialog box to appear. Check out post #70 for simple instructions.

I assume you are using Firefox? If so, I take it you are using the NoScript plugin? You just have to allow imageshack.us iframe and that should fix it. If not something is blocking the iframe on your PC. This is a PC related issue and nothing to do with the mod.

EDIT: Even when the colour is changed, the iframe still does not change colours, that is a problem with the iframe at imageshack's end and there is nothing I can do about it, unless they actually make their iframe color option work, so until then there will be no new version, sorry

comunque conosco un image hosting tutto italiano che consente l'inserimento nel forum di vbulletin (attraverso una piccola modifica dei templates), al momento di creare un nuovo thread (o nella modifica avanzata), di un riquadro per caricare le immagini direttamente su questo hosting, che tra l'altro genera diversi codici fatti apposta per vbulletin con la descrizione in italiano (miniatura...link per il forum...link per mostrare l'immagine ai tuoi amici...). in pratica la versione italiana di questa mod. se ti interessa mandami pure un PM.

It does not use any queries at all (I have tested this by disabling the product), the wait time is waiting for the iframe to download from imageshack.us (it is not local your forum) and there is nothing I can do about that at all.

I will look into it but am not promising anything, as I am only really doing things that I would use myself, if I don't use it I will not code it.
