Introduction
QuickClip allows your members to store frequently used snippets of text that they can then quickly and easily use as replies to threads and private messages.
QuickClip is based on the familier Private Messaging interface, so will be instantly familier to your users and will help cut down support queries such as "Where is the such-and-such button?".
As the forum administrator, you can keep full control over your members QuickClips usage by limiting the number of clips and folders they can create, or even banning them from using it completly.
All of this is controlled by Usergroup access, with default settings in vBulletin Options.

Thanks go to Danny.vbt for testing, to SomeName for proof-reading the Installation Guide, and for everyone who has made suggestions or helped to find bugs
My thanks goes to everyone of you who has installed QuickClip, and to those who have posted in this thread
Important: Unfortunately, my leased vBulletin licence has now expired, and I won't be renewing it until September which means I will be unable to reply to this thread, or update this mod until then. I'm hopeful that the great vBulletin.org community will step in to answer any questions in my absence though See you all in early September!

Alan, is there a way to have the drop down for the clips to be moved to the postbit (maybe under the username) and when you pick a clip, have it automatically bring up the new reply with the clip already posted into it?
Not at the moment I'm afraid. Something along those lines was always on my todo list, but I'm afraid I haven't had a chance to look into it recently.
Thanks,
Alan.
Right now I have a link in the postbit that will do that but a drop down with many links in it would be better. I can send you what I have if that would help at all.
Then I'm not sure what the difference will be to how it currently works
Is it just that you want to edit the reply before posting it?
Yes, It would be nice to have that option. All it would mean is that once I click one of the items in the drop, it would bring up the new reply with that item already in the message. Most often, I would click submit and it would be sent. But having the option to edit it first is always a good idea. Basically just having the drop down in the posbit would be the only real difference I guess.
I'm got some work to do on another mod first, but when that's done, I'll take a look at adding a "Reply with Quickclip" dropdown to each post as well as having one at the bottom, as well as adding an option to edit the reply before posting it.
If I haven't done it in a couple of weeks, remind me because I'll have forgotten

No problem, sir. I'll see what I can come up with in the meantime. If I get anything on it, I will get the changes to you so you can add them.
Alan,
I had contracted a dev here to build something very similar to this for me last year, it works on java script which allows you to insert the responses into the wysiwyg & title of the message, thus allowing you to edit it before sending or allowing you to append another response after the first. It also worked on usernotes, reputation, and send email (admincp) in addition to posts, threads, and PMs.
Who knows- it may assist in developing this hack, I am sure the dev we worked with wouldn't have a problem with it, so long as he were acknowledged in the event some of his code ended up being used.
If you're interested in checking out the code, please PM me.
