Installation
Import [phpdesk.com]-product-profileintro.xml via AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]
Settings
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Profile Intro Options
Users Go to: UserCP Settings > Edit Profile > Additional Information > Profile Intro

Could you send me a sample link to show the unusual behaviour of the intro block with customized profile pages?
I've made you a screenshot of a customized profile. As you can see the profile intro doesn't fit to the customized style. I had to change the CSS-Classes in your XML to get the profile intro readable because it's transparent. If you want to use the 50% opacity background you'll find it here
Seems to be a group permission issue. I setup so only Admin , Mod, S-Mod, and a group a I made called "Community Sponsor" would have access to this & everyone else would not. But oddly enough everyone does (Registered Users, Awaiting Confirmation E-mail).
Are you by any chance assuming it doesn't work because of the Profile Intro Title and Profile Intro Text fields displaying for all usergroups on the Profile Edit page? That's because, as far as I'm aware, there isn't currently a way to filter custom fields by usergroups.
In this mod, restriction refers to the Profile Intro block display on the member profile page.
