Description:
At the forum I maintain these are the general measures taken to determine if a new registrant is a spammer:
- google username see if it has been used elsewhere and if it has been banned, if there are a lot of results, try searching using: $username vbulletin, or, $username phpbb, or $username forum
- go to domain of email address if unfamiliar
- google first part of email address
- google second part of email address if unfamiliar
- check IP on DNS Stuff
So, to make it easier for the other admins to check this information I wrote this which basically has quick links to get this information. Refer to the screenshot for more details.
In the contained zip file, import the product via 'Manage Products' and upload the rest of the file to their appropiate locations
After installing, you'd need to refresh the admincp/modcp area with your browser then look under 'Users' in the admincp, otherwise look under 'New Registrant Info' if in the modcp
changelog
0.1 - initial release
0.2 - make it work for both mods and admins (shows in admincp and modcp)
0.3 - use dynamic modcp/admincp variables, move 'New Registrant Info' under Users menu
NOTE: remember to look under Users when browsing in the admincp

*edit* you already changed this - good job! Ok, one more suggestion then...
I get a lot of bots signing up, and my usual trick is to ban the email address, and then delete them (otherwise there would be thousands by now - over christmas they literally appeared like 30 a day)
Would it be possible (and this might only be in the admin version, I dont know) to have either a delete user button, or move to group, for easy mass pruning later?

sounds like a good suggestion.. that plus some of what The Finman said earlier is pretty good. have you noticed how many of the new users have their birthday set to March 28th?

are you planning on updating with said suggestions? (just curious)
I have a mailing program(mail blaster) that sends emails and tracks it.
Can I export a CSV file of users and their emails so i can send them newsletter and info using my system that accepts CSV imports?
