Following is a non-exhaustive list:

• Simple install
• Ajax based with:
  • Fast and Intelligent chats retrieval through javascript calls to server files (refresh delay configurable per usergroup)
  • Edit/update by double-clicking on a chat
  • Interact on chats through menus and javascript
• Many usergroup permissions to limit features according to usergroups
• Full configuration of the chatbox display:
  Size, position on forum pages, editor layout (either top/bottom input or left/right textarea) and position, number of chats displayed, ...

hey there, I run saskforum.ca, and I noted just now when I uninstalled the 3.8 mod "Mgc Chatbox Evo", now I can't get the forum to work at all!

In the source code off the main page, it said:

The chatbox would never have caused such errors. Seems like some table have been removed from your forum but that's not due to the chatbox itself.

Development status update :

Thought it was the the right time to post you about the current status of the chatbox developments.

All of the bugs were corrected, one is still to be checked but appart from that everything is fine.

I have rewritten how the function was working and moved all its content to class for faster load and better sorting of the functions in the files.

So now I can start working on the new features Keep in touch and look at the list of requested features, it should be moving to green periodically

I am planning on a release by the beginning / mid June as I am moving of location at the end of may so will be away from the net.

Hello ,
I have a request for adding a feature .
Is it possible to have advertisement sentences between the chat ? For example in front of 5 chat message we would be able to send a AD BOT message or SPONSORED LINK .
Also this idea can be repleted by a FORUM NEWS or FORUM STATISTICS function when a thread updates a message would show in the chat box calling "The thread X Updated".

Is it possible to make it more secure, asking people to must enter a reCaptcha before they can submit a chat entry / comment ? Or is the System save enough to not allow Bots to put in a lot of crap, like you see on many other Chat / Shoutbox Systems ?

If you only allow user to post if they are registered then there should be no problem ?

I was asked to do a kind of captcha for anonymous user post, will add this to the todo list. (I therefore would set it for each user but not sure because this would be annoying for users to have to enter captcha everytime)
