I'm sorry to have cried, "Wolf!"
I did NOT lose any of my chat when I did a 2nd testvb upgrade to vB3.8.0 Beta 1. I had Plugins turned OFF when I did the upgrade this time. Whatever... I'm glad the chats disappearing did NOT happen a 2nd time.
And, thanks again for this fantastic, robust mod, vBDev. You're the Man!
So It means that perhpas it does remove all chats when the plugins are not off ?

Smilies are activated for you in the chatbox ?
If they don't display then it's perhaps because the mySmilies mod uses a specific hook for his smilies parsing which is related to the posts and threads and this is why it doesn't work in the chatbox.

This bug is corrected in the new version. It's going on, as you can see I have started adding features (see list above, all items in green are done).
The bug with the PM popup shall be corrected I think, there was a stupid JS error. However this will need to be checked during the beta test of the next version. I will as for beta testing help when I'm ready.
Yes, that is what I like to achieve. But I think 15x15 is too small. I had a shoutbox on phpbb. I think there I had 40x40 (or 30x30).
I have set up my vb to have avatars of 80x80. That would be too big. But you might be able to use the custom avatar thumbnails. On my forum it is set to 60x60. I have no idea where you can set that size to your liking.
I have read that you could call the avatar picture with this code:
Code:
src='image.php?type=thumb&u=$user[userid]'
Unfortunately I have no clue which file generates the chat messages. I was not even able to find my chat messages in the source code of the generated page.
I have checked but this feature is not possible anymore for vBulletin with the code you gave.
It would need further coding and I don't think a complicated code is really the point for such a small feature.
Ok ive installed it and activated everything but it wont show. What am i doing wrong.
Perhaps usergroup permissions, have you set them ?
Otherwise it could be a style issue. On some styles the automatic template insertion don't work due to missing vars. There is an howto in the readme for that.
However, the thumb size is a fix parameter of resize in vBulletin and can't be changed.
I have thus added 3 options :
Activate avatar display
Avatar width
Avatar height
This will lead to fix size for each avatar. As a consequence, an image which hasn't the same ratios could seems strange, you see what I mean ?
But as these are really small sizes of avatar I don't think it's a major problem.
That sounds great. I don' t see any problem with the wrong aspect ratio of the resized avatars, either. This happened on the other shoutbox, too, and nobody complained about it. But I think they would have screamed out loud if the avatars had not been shown any more.
Looking forward to your new release. Thank you very much for your hard work!
