Miscellaneous Hacks - Rotating Banner System

With the Rotating Banner System software, you may publish literally anywhere standard banners and advertising, with no restriction but your imagination. Unlike many other products, it allows to show an unlimited amount of banners and advertising, which are randomly shown at the places you choose, and you may refer generically to an Ad by using specific placeholders.

Also the management is straight-forward and simple to use. Forum administrators with maintenance rights may add, edit and delete records from the Administration Control Panel (ACP), one of each representing a banner. After saving the new banner settings, they are immediately visible at your board.

Compatibility: from vBulletin 3.6.5 onwards

By the way, I do also install the hack on your boards, but since I am very, very busy, it may take some time (weeks) until it gets done.

Now, if mailing should be repeated, you will have to edit the banner from phpMyAdmin. Added: Order links in lists. The initial state is ordered by ID, as before. By clicking the titles, the other voices can be ordered. Clicking twice inverts the order. This works in all lists. Options to prevent counting and reducing thus a tiny bit of load. A new bunch of demo banners for new installations. Demo banners are locked into database in order to avoid 30% of the questions because of the 'experts' deleting them before trying the product. They can be disabled and modified though. The true experts can delete them after all testing from the database by using phpMyAdmin without side effects. Changes: Phrase for emailing about expiring banners, now also with direct links to the phrases. Demo banners. Our old publisher ID is replaced with the new ones, and old demo banners are updated with the new ones, if found. The functions have been exported to includes/functions_rbs.php. This makes the product code smaller and easier to maintain, and runs faster on sites where caching/acceleration is enabled. Changed Files: all *.php
• 2.4.1: Option Likelihood. This new option adds a weight to banners and allows thus to show one banner more often than another. The default weight is 100%. We also make sure that the final date of the default banners falls into a valid range. Changed files: includes/functions_rbs.php and rbs_stats.php.

I have installed this addon, but it has a time limit. So I have always to change the time, so that the banner does not disappear and the banner switch only if you go to another forum. The automatic does not work properly.

I've seen this done before, not sure if they were using Giovaqnni's mod in conjunction to accomplish it or not though... heck been a while I can't remember what I did on that forum either so if it comes back to me anytime soon I'll come back and post the point being the way Giovanni described it (template mod or similar) will suffice to accomplish what you want just needs some time into it is all .

Also I agree, this is a great mod I've recommended it to quite a few of my clients and they went with this free mod instead of paying for something - whatever can save time and money and yields the same results is always a good thing!

Ok so it sounds like your adding in multiple banners to a certain list, when you want to only show one banner in a single forum and not have it change? If that is the case then in one of the list you have yet to use, make it only one ad that will show in (example List 3) and then when you're in said forum only one ad shows and none rotate. <-- That or simply use the built-in notices or advertising manager (the latter to be more correct per say) to show only a single ad. *IF this is not the case it it seems to just be having oddly, see the post above your last reply by Richieboy, are you sure something else is not conflicting i.e. another mod or plugin?

There's many ways to do "work arounds" using this mod, just think outside the box then ask questions and if we can help of offer advice on how to achieve something we surely will .

I have a simple problem that I have seen solved on here, but the solution is NOT working for my forum.

The header2 ad is going too high on the page and interfering with the login area.

If you remember, please let us know. I would love to split the forums with a banner. Advertisers would love to be put there- especially as a global.

Yes, I have multiple banners and I want it to change! But it change only, when I go in a other forum. The banners don't change when I stay in one Forum. The banners don't rotate fast enough.

And I would find it better if I could insert the banner untimed.

I hope I have it explain right!?!

I didn't see an image for the problem but it sounds like it would just be a CSS issue.

I believe you want in-place rotating. There is something in the unsupported (addon) folder in the package, which would allow you to do this with some scripting (does not work out of the box). Please be aware that most banner providers (such as Google AdSense) will ban you if you use in-place banner rotating.
