This little PRODUCT will provide you with a template to put content in a column going down the left side of every forum page.

What you put there is limited only by your imagination.

This can easily be combined with the right column product to have a column on both sides.

To use this with the right column product , change the footer code to:
Code:
<!-- Right Column Code  -->
</td>
<td width="160" valign="top" align="left">$rightcolumn</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td></tr>
</table>
<!-- End Right Column Code -->
Changes in 1.1
Some very important changes were made to the header and footer template changes. Please modify your header and footer code to use the new version.

This is now a PRODUCT and not a plugin. Use the product manager to import it. If you are upgrading, copy the contents of your left_column template to notepad BEFORE you install the product. Then, replace the template contents with your backup.

This version now includes sample html in the left_column template. Thanks to iguanairs for that code.

Hi

Just installed this....I have added the code that prevents this from working on vbadvanced index...

I have added the code a member added on here for a block, Now the thing is the
block only shows on the forum home, Howd do i get the blocks to show on all
pages please?

Als there was a hack released for to run with amy's 2 colum hacks, its the one for the
vbadvanced modules to show in the colums, i cannot find it I have searched all morning

Please advise?

OK having issues with this. I can get the hack in great and get the left column but as soon as I add anything such as stats or login box in that left column they don't show. It's like something is not allowing that info to iniitate. The stats are fine in the main body of the sforum but they don't work in the left. This goes for anything I add, whether it's events, birthdays, login. Any ideas?

forgive me if its already been mentioned, aftre a few pages of readuing, i'm just going to ask...

i got everything working, right and left sides. thank you...

however, when i copy the login/member info stuff to one of the side bars, i only get the info i would when loged out. no member info shows up. same if i move nav links there.

it all shows as default/not logged in status.

if there something else i need to do to get that info in the columns?

at the moment, all i did was copy/paste from the nav bar template.

I am using this mod on my forum to accommodate a 120x600 Google AdSense tower ad, the problem is, I've now learned that you cannot have Google ads on a forum registration page. So I was wondering is there any way I can still have the google ads appear on the left column however not on register.php? Perhaps maybe a conditional or something? Thanks!
