This is idea belongs to Blizzard Entertainment and its community of World Of Warcraft. I just found it useful for vb so I create this for my site and I think you may need it too. Credits go to Blizzard.
Usage
Recently the acts of keylogger scams and PC security have been increasing. No one wants to lose your credit card numbers, your game accounts, chat logs with your gf or have your PC hacked. Keyloggers and trojan can be installed by just pressing a link. I'm a gamer and I have a board, I don't want me or my friends to get a trojan/keylogger by pressing strange links from the posts on my board. So I found the idea of the world of warcraft community is really nice and vbulletin boards would need one (I actually just saw it this morning).
How does it work ?
The hack will check for any urls that are intentionally/automatically put on [url] bbcode if it is from your website or a remote one. The urls works normally if they are not remote, otherwise a message will display confirming if you want to open it with some advices (those can be edited via RLI_error_message template).

Works perfect but in you instructions you say in class_bbcode.php but dont give were its at took me 20 mins searching my ftp /includes/class_bbcode.php if anyone need to know thanks.
For your next release, can you make it possible to turn this off by the user? Have them sign a waiver of some kind stating that they understand the consequences of accessing external link from your site and agree not to whole your forum responsible. This option could even go in the warning page. I for one would hate to see this each time I click on a link.
can this be set up for a specific forum? I have private boards where members have been approved by hand, so I am not that concerned about URLs posted there, but we also have public boards where people can sign up and post freely.
this is a great idea, it should be built into the next vb, many uses.
looks like deathemperor has a lot of work cuz all these ideas are great.
like
adding a list of allowed urls you set
adding a waiver where it can be disabled by user
make this enabled in x forums you give the number 2
a [rlp] bb code
great ideas, however im not going to install this just yet i will wait till i can make this only work in the forums i want, i have a forum on my site for links, this is a WONDERFUL add to that section, i haven't enabled that forum yet, im waiting for the Remote link protector next version
