VERSION 2.0 - UPDATED FOR VB3.0.7
Now Even Easier To Install!!! - Enjoy

NOTE: VERSION 2 is for VBulleting 3.0.7, VERSION 1 is for 2.2.x
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE CORRECT VERSION...

1 x new template
1 x file upload
1 x template edit (Optional I guess, you could put the link to your chatroom anywhere you like....)

P.S. You will need to add the templete to each style your site uses and edit to suit...

This is a very very easy hack to install and must be one of the easiest and best free ways to add chat to your forums. This hack uses Eirc java applets to connect to World IRC servers. There is no need to sign and compile Eirc yourself or even host it or a irc server, simply follow these instructions and you will have FREE, full, IRC chat on your forums in under 2 minutes...

For a demo, checkout the chat running here at vbullettin.org ( https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/chat.php? ) as it uses the same java applets and basicly is the same as this hack...

Once you have installed the hack pop into #austech and say hello...

Sorry everyone, I haven't been on alot lately.. I will try and get this working and packaged up for VB 3.0.X in the next few weeks...

Ignore that last part, new version uploaded to suit VB3.0.7.. Enjoy...

P.S. It may/should work on other 3.0.X versions but I havent tested it...

Oh could a mod please edit the 1.0 out of the thread title and move it to VB3 hacks?? I cant seem to change it.. Thanks

I have a problem that this applet takes up 40MB of ram on J2SE 5.0 and ultimately crashes IE and firefox.. any ideas?

Is it possible also to set a parameter for a channel password, so that only user can join over the applet?

Installed and having some issues.

Installed quite easily and everything is looking good except...

The chat window is greyed out and there is an error in the internet explorer window stating load: class EIRC not found

Seems like I am not finding the eirc java package.

I made my irc channel...but not sure if I set that up right.

Any help would be very apprecaited!

Im having the same problem. Looks like this will be the first addition that Ill have to uninstall
