PhotoPlog: The Lite Gallery

PhotoPlog Lite is a gallery script for GIF, JPG, and PNG images. PhotoPlog Lite comes with categories, permissions, comments, search, moderation. The installation takes care of phrases, templates, tables, etcetera. Just follow the README.txt file for installation.

This thread is organized as follows:

Requirements: vB 3.5.0+ (development initially based on having vB 3.5.4 though vB 3.6.0+ and vB 3.7.0+ should be okay, but not every version was personally tested) and MySQL 4.1+ (development based on having MySQL 4.1+ though MySQL 3+ may be okay, but not every version was personally tested) and PHP with GD2 and Safe Mode off

Does it work on vB 3.5 and vB 3.6 and vB 3.7? Yes, it should. See the requirements. Also, there are two product XML files, one for vB 3.5 and one for vB 3.6/3.7, so import the one that matches your vB version.

Note on Official Support: With 70 some pages, assuming 15 posts per page, and over 1000 posts, all in one thread, official support for this mod is now held off-site. Apologies in advance for possibly having to register at yet another forum, but IMHO support would be better served elsewhere at this point.

All support requests, except perhaps for proven bugs, may be ignored if posted in this thread.

Comments, suggestions, etcetera are welcome, but please note that further modifications are not being planned, as this is intended as the final release of the lite series.

Fun Fact: PhotoPlog Lite v.2.0.6 had 4330 downloads plus 2262 downloads prior to CSRF protection plus 3031 downloads as of 06 Nov 2010!

You will get a response like /home/baby41/domains/yoururl.com/public_html
That would be your full path to your root dir.

Sorry, xxxx: Bad Open - Cannot Open the images Directory for Writing

Checked images folder permissions and are 777 as it is supose,any of you guys have an idea what to do now.

You probably did 777 in in www.yoururl.com/forum/images (that one should stay 755)

you should check www.yoururl.com/photoplog/images

Decide what groups to give permission to view and/or upload and then edit your usergroup settings.

Currently my subcategories are being shown one after another. Please see the first screenshot.

I would like each subcategory to display in a new row just like the second attachment.

Any suggestions, as I could not find a way around this..

I'd like to share with You an Incompatibility of this Hack with the Hack "Chief First Post - Every Page - 3.6.x" (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=156141); perhaps the Error is on that Hack or in this Hack; I copy/paste the Error Message so that You Could Analyze it and have the necessary Information to Solve that Incompatibility:

one last questiion, is there a hack to display latest uploads on forumhome?

Regardless of the posting settings, when ever I try and reply I keep getting "The message you have entered is too short".

Any ideas why?

Yes, its written in readme.txt

Go to your forumhome template and and find $navbar, add below $photoplog_forumhome
.

This will show random uploads and not last uploads by the way.
