EZ Bounced Email Management for Admins Details »» | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
DESCRIPTION:
This mod will insert a special EZbounce link into the header of all emails sent from your forums. In the event any email bounces back to you, you simply click the EZbounce link and the Ezbounce script launches, which will modify the bouncing members settings to prevent further bouncing emails. It will also send that member a PM asking them to update their email address. This modification is known to work with versions as high as 3.8.x FEATURES:
Now, the next time you send a newsletter from your AdminCP, (so long as you only send emails to members whom have "Receive Email From Administrators" set to "Yes") you will no longer receive a bounced email from this member (because they are no longer being sent). And also, if you created a new usergroup such as "Bounced Members" and set this usergroupid in this hack's settings, now the members that have bounced can be pruned, sent reminder emails, whateveryou want to do with them! WHAT IF A MEMBER DECIDED TO CLICK ON THE LINK IN THE EMAIL HEADER? Most email clients don't show the email's headers by default, however in the event a member is slick enough to view their header and they click on this mysterious link, they will simply receive a no permission message since they're unallowed to log in to the AdminCP. How about a Forum having 2000+ Users, the Admin cant click on all these email Headers.
If this just sets the "Receive Email from Admin" Option, it doesnt seems to be very usefully for the Meaning of "EZ Bounced Email Management for Admins". Management should also include changing Usergroups. regards |

I don't think you understand... You only have to click on the link in the email header of those emails which bounce back. Which therefore helps you to avoid sending these bouncing members emails until they update their password.
Previous to this version, you had to do the following steps to manage bouncing emails: 1) open the bounced email 2) type the email address or username of the bouncing member into the AdminCP>Search for Members page 3) scroll through the list of returned results and open the bouncing member's "edit user" page 4) scroll through the edit member page and either change their usergroup, receive admin emails setting or whatever other method you used to deal with bounces 5) click submit to deal with the member Now with this, you just click the link in the email header and you're done. One step as opposed to five certainly sounds easier to me, but i could be wrong... The next version (which will be released this week) will give you the option in your settings to change either usergroup or receive admin emails (or both) if you choose. |

I just set up a test account with an email addy that does not exsist. well i do not think spammy@tuu.org does now i just sent an email just to that user and goto check to see if its bounced in my email and nothing is there IS my mail set up wrong or am i missing something ? |

This will also bounce if you send the email from "send email to user" feature when viewing users profile out of the forums as well. i.e. you don't just have to send an email from within the admincp. All outgoing email sent from the AdminCP (or the forums) will have this in the header if it bounces. |

you're welcome! - i hope to have the update done by end of this week. The update will add the ability to change the bouncing members usergroup when link in header is clicked, so for instance, you create a bouncing usergroup and after you process all bounces, you can prune all members in this group, etc...
