vB Optimise Lite

The newly revamped vB Optimise was created for vBulletin 4, but has now been made compatible for vBulletin 3.8. In this release I have re-coded vB Optimise from the gound and focused stability over features, you'll notice Phrase Caching and vBAdvanced Integration have bit the dust, this is to maintain a sync state between this version and the vBulletin 4 release.

What does it do?

vB Optimise is intended to optimise vBulletin software by integrating several PHP "cachers" and handling data before vBulletin. This works by encountering and handling data prior to vBulletin in order to skip the arbitary execution that would be more server intensive.

Release Notes

If you've used vB Optimise before you'll be aware the previous version had phrase caching, however this caused complications with the way phrases are used within vBulletin so it has not been ported over at this time.

FAQ

Q: I have WinCache installed, but vB Optimise tells me it's not?
A: WinCache only introduced OpCode support in version 1.1, if you're using version 1.0.x you will need to upgrade.

Q: I'm using the XCache method, flushing doesn't work?
A: If you have XCache authentification, turn the admin option on within vB Optimise Settings, then edit ./vboptimise/config.php and specify your XCache username/password. Alternatively you can disable XCache authentification within php.ini:

xcache.admin.enable_auth = Off

Q: I have eAccelerator installed, but vB Optimise tells me it's not?
A: eAccelerator does not provide the caching extension by default, you will need to recompile PHP with additional flags. For more information read eAccelerator documentation located here: http://eaccelerator.net/wiki/CompileConfiguration (Specifically look at: with-eaccelerator-shared-memory)

Im looking at trying this, does it work with VBSEO 3.5.2. I installed the newer version of VBSEO and had alot of issues now I want to optimise better. My site is www.snowandmud.com

We currently have no conflict reports with vBSEO, though if you do run into any you can always just disable vBO

Out of curiosity, why use vBSEO if it's got a lot of issues?

I had, I believe they stopped when I reverted back to the 3.5.2 from the newest. I will try this and see what happens as well. I have 12G ram on my server, was going to upgrade to 16 G. But maybe Im fine.

Hey Dragon this mod seems to be conflicting with a Zoints Post Anonymous Hack found here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ight=anonymous

When Optimise is enabled the checkbox which allows my users to post content via Anon account disappears but when I disable the Optimise Mod the check box re-appears.

I would love to run these two side by side.

Did you try flushing the cache after installing that mod? If so, then it's probably to do with the HTML being cached without the checkbox and as such loaded for every page (even the ones where the checkbox should show in.

What you can try is disable each "cache x" under Misc Settings until it shows again.

If neither of this help, then we are sadly unable to assist further since attempting to fix it would undermine the purpose of this mod.

Flushing the cache seemed to work nicely, thank you!

This might sound weird, but since I installed this mod I noticed the amount of online guests to be much lower.

The visits and pageviews are about the same, but while I had about 400 logged in users and 3000+ guests y barely have 2000 among logged in and guest users.

This makes me think that vboptimise is serving the page without creating an entry in vb_session table?

pd: I'm not complaining, I just used to predict a good day based on the online people at 16:00

There's a bug in the memcache class, I believe.
A manual flush of the cache through the admin panel did not work.

I think it can be fixed by changing

PHP Code:

    public function do_flush($silent = false) 


to

PHP Code:

    public function flush($silent = false) 


in class_operator_memcache.php.

Can somebody confirm this bug?
