There's a vB4 version of this mod available: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=231427

DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

Because a lot of people keep on asking this:
This mod works with any version of vBulletin 3.7.x and 3.8.x!

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.

Instructions & Support

You can find an installation manual in the zip package (Readme-Install.txt).

We try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if we don't ask for them, as we said we try to give a high level of support in this thread. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications.

Screenshots & Live demo

At the bottom of this post, you can find 6 screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software. You can see the newest version in action at the Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch).

Changelog (version 5.1.2)

Jelle
  • Backported CSRF security fix from the vB 4 release
  • Added permission check for Update Counters
  • Fixed PHP warnings when running PHP 5.3
  • Removed the imagecreatefrombmp() function. It doesn't exist.
  • Added permission check for rating submissions
You can find all the changelogs of this and older versions here.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the second most asked question. Have a look at this post for the solution.

It doesn't work with GARS?!

If you also use the latest version of GARS, you will get the "Fields marked in RED must be filled in!" error when uploading a file. I provided a fix here on the GARS forums.

Addons

We are offering 3 addons for this mod at the moment (have a look at the bottom of this post for them). DownloadsII contains 5 hook locations for the vBulletin plugin systems, so you can add extra functionality without file edits.

Do you want to help expanding DownloadsII (if you are a coder)? Check out this post!

Notes
  • ecDownloads Buddy is NOT compatible with this version. If you are using the Buddy, you should UNINSTALL it before installing DownloadsII ver 5.x.x. The Buddy's features are now integrated into DownloadsII.
  • DownloadsII is a direct derivative work from Ron1n's ecDownloads.

Hi there!

First please excuse my bad english!

The mod is really great,
but i have one little problem with the description-images added to a download,
when you click on it, the 403 error message come up, cause the image-file didnt have
the right chmod... I have set the 2 Folders "downloads" and "ec_temp" to chmod 777, but i need to change every single description-image-file from chmod 600 to 644 to get the large image working Dont want to disable the description-images...
Why it dont set it automatic on my webspace?

All other work fine!

Hope you undsertand me, and thanks for any help

It will be extremely helpful for me if I could assign different upload folders per categories, since those same files are used somewhere else. That would avoid the necessity to upload the same file twice. Is there an easy way to implement that?

The easiest way I found would be to use "abbr" for $this->url

Is there a way to implement that? I really would like to categorize the downloads folder. I have all sort of mp3, videos etc... By categorizing them, I could also allow people to "preview" before downloading, simply by dropping wimpy in that folder. When they are all in same folder, that's really no good for me. Right now I am forced to create 2 folders for same files

Any hints on how to do it?

I a new to V.

It seems that this thread is the best place to post this question:

Is there any option to limit download attachement by units!

I explain:

The system for now is:

Can Upload Attachments Yes No
Space (in bytes) that a user's total attachment usage may consume (Set to 0 to not have a limit)

New feature

Numbers Of Attachment Users Can download:

1. X attachments per day or/and
2. x attachments per week or/and
3. x attachments per month or/and
4. whatever the first quota is filled up
5. option to transfer the remaining quota to the next month if not used

All this could be combined with the quota in terms of kilobytes (already existing features) or not!

Having a control as it is now by limiting the kilobytes is OK. With the new feature, it would be a lot more flexible.

I read your add on feature amd if I am right, it seems a much better feature than V now but not exactly what i have in mind!

As you are a specialist in the attachment line, maybe you could tell me if such a plug in exits ..at all!

Thanks!

Roger

Hi, a Mod of my Forum has found a small bug:

In "manage Files" the pagination does not work if none of the Drop Down Fields are selected.

When I select for example in the DropDown "Approval" all acepted files, the pagination works.

Here is a link from the pagination when the DropDown "Approval" is not selected:

downloads.php?do=manfiles&pin=0&approval=0&page=3

The variable approval is 0, after clicking this link i get only non approved files even the DropDown isn't selected.

Thomas

Files larger than 2 or 3MB are giving an error when attempting to upload. I don't have any limits set.
