There's a vB4 version of this mod available: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=231427
DownloadsII DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options. Because a lot of people keep on asking this: This mod works with any version of vBulletin 3.7.x and 3.8.x! It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself. Instructions & Support You can find an installation manual in the zip package (Readme-Install.txt). We try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if we don't ask for them, as we said we try to give a high level of support in this thread. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications. Screenshots & Live demo At the bottom of this post, you can find 6 screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software. You can see the newest version in action at the Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch). Changelog (version 5.1.2) Jelle
Help!!! I can't upload large files?? This is probably the second most asked question. Have a look at this post for the solution. It doesn't work with GARS?! If you also use the latest version of GARS, you will get the "Fields marked in RED must be filled in!" error when uploading a file. I provided a fix here on the GARS forums. Addons We are offering 3 addons for this mod at the moment (have a look at the bottom of this post for them). DownloadsII contains 5 hook locations for the vBulletin plugin systems, so you can add extra functionality without file edits. Do you want to help expanding DownloadsII (if you are a coder)? I've searched this thread and not found a way to update the counter in the postbit. My test user has uploaded 5 files. All counts show that there are 5 files, except in the user postbit, it shows three.
I tried running the query "UPDATE dl_main SET downloads = 0" as posted here, but that did not fix the postbit counter. Any thoughts? |

I seem to be having an issue where I have 4 download categories and several user groups. Some user groups have access to a few categories and other user groups have access to other categories. If I have a user that has access to multiple user groups then that user can only see his download category not everything.
So if I have download categories A, B, C, and D and I have user groups 1, 2, and 3: Usergroup 1 has access to downloads A, and B Usergroup 2 has access to download C Usergroup 3 has access to download D If I have a user that has access to usergroup 1 he can see downloads A and B - Perfect but if I add usergroup 2 to his profile then all he sees is download C - Not so good Now usergroup 1 download permissions are set to show categories A, B usergroup 2 download permissions are set to show only category C It seems that downloadsII uses the most restrictive permissions on usergroups to decide which to display instead of being inclusive. This is the SAME issue as #3746 Any ideas, or help would be appreciated. |

I spent about a week implementing and evaluating both DownloadsII and Links and Downloads Manager. I really like the layout of the DownloadsII file area better than LDM. The presentation is better and it's more intuitive. But the absense of a progress bar made it a choice I couldn't go with. LDM has a very well implemented progress bar for uploads so the user's browser doesn't just sit there churning with no feedback during large uploads. In addition, LDM's developer is more responsive in his forum. Of course, DownloadsII's developer does this for us all for free so it isn't fair to complain. But (at least at present) it seems LDM is better supported.
If DownloadsII ever adds a progress bar like LDM's I'll probably switch over. |

I am trying to add my IntelliTEXT (Vibrant Media) ad's into the downloads mod. But I am having trouble making them show up. I use conditions so that the ad's aren't everywhere on my site, just on the showthread template. But I want to add them to my downloads as well.
What should the condition look like or more to the point, which template should I be using for the if condition? This is what I am using now. Code:
<if condition="in_array(THIS_SCRIPT, array(showthread, downloads))">

As a matter of fact. I can't get Google ads to show up either.

This is a great modification .. as many can attest to! :up:
I had one question. My 'collapse_tcat_collapsed.gif' image is a very light image that doesn't work against the background of the 'download area' (see attached image). How can I change the path? I want to change the image to something else and need to point it to another image. Thanks again for this great mod! |

Hi. My users are getting this error when trying to download:
Code:
Warning: copy(./downloads//ec_tmp/filename.filename) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in [path]/downloads.php on line 704 ERROR: File not found. Nevermind. I changed the permissions on the ./downloads//ec_tmp/ folder to 777 and now there is no error. |

Is there any way to not show the sub-sub-categories on the main page? I would like to show only one level of sub-categories on each of my pages.
Thanks! |
