There's a vB4 version of this mod available: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=231427
DownloadsII DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options. Because a lot of people keep on asking this: This mod works with any version of vBulletin 3.7.x and 3.8.x! It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself. Instructions & Support You can find an installation manual in the zip package (Readme-Install.txt). We try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if we don't ask for them, as we said we try to give a high level of support in this thread. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications. Screenshots & Live demo At the bottom of this post, you can find 6 screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software. You can see the newest version in action at the Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch). Changelog (version 5.1.2) Jelle
Help!!! I can't upload large files?? This is probably the second most asked question. Have a look at this post for the solution. It doesn't work with GARS?! If you also use the latest version of GARS, you will get the "Fields marked in RED must be filled in!" error when uploading a file. I provided a fix here on the GARS forums. Addons We are offering 3 addons for this mod at the moment (have a look at the bottom of this post for them). DownloadsII contains 5 hook locations for the vBulletin plugin systems, so you can add extra functionality without file edits. Do you want to help expanding DownloadsII (if you are a coder)? I followed the steps from the installation instructions (those that I could - read on) and have no Downloads menu item in my forum. Is there something I have to do to create that menu item?
Note: I'm on an IIS server. I could not perform a chmod 777 on my downloads folder as that is only available to *nix users. I'm working with my web host to set the permissions on that folder. Could this be the reason I have no Downloads menu on my main forum page? Second Note: I'm not exactly sure I understand what "Create directories in the 'Categories' menu under the 'Downloads' in your admincp" means. I created a category by selecting the Categories menu under Downloads but I don't see any way to create a directory from there... Thanks for any help you can offer. I tried searching the thread for solutions but came up empty. (edit) When I enter the URL to my downloads directory I get an empty white page. UPDATE: OK, I'm feeling real foolish. It seems that I uploaded everything BUT the downloads.php script. I've uplodoaded it and now there downloads page displays properly. I still don't have a link on my navbar for the downloads area so I assume I need to add that manually (no problem, I can do that). Larger uploads seem to time out. I seem to recall reading a fix for that in the thread somewhere. I'll go looking for it. Definitely need a progress bar for uploading. Is there an add-on for this? My web host changed the permissions on the folder for me so I should be all set. |

I have installed it went ok
but when click on downloads i get this message: japaro, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation. i am the admin help please |

Can this product or something else be used as a pay per download / pay per image download system?

Great mod. I'll use it to replace my downloads page.
Question: Are the image filenames limited to 50 character? |

This really is a great mod but I have a few things I'm trying to do to customize it for my site. I'd really appreciate it if I could get some help with the following:

I'm having trouble updating some of the templates. I have modified the downloads_panel_bit template but only the latest files section has updated and the popular files hasn't.
I have Updated Counters numerous times. Sometimes it does actually use the new template but 9 times out of 10 it is using the old one (as shown in screenshot). Any reason why it's not updating and anything I should try to fix it? |

My members are getting the following error when trying to upload a file.
Code:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /xxxxxxx/xxxxxx/xxxxxx/xxxxxx/downloads.php(1181) : eval()'d code on line 1 At times, the file still uploads with the error message showing, other times it fails. Yes, I have current version installed. Any suggestions? |
