Customizable Roster

Introduction:

This Mod is ideal for a Guild/Clan roster, but it is also a great replacement for the memberlist. Customize it any way you like: add or remove columns with just a few easy edits. The installer includes permission control that allows you to set which groups appear on the roster and which ones can view it. The most popular option is the ability to control advanced sorting; check it out!

Installation:

Step 0: If you are upgrading from a previous version, save a copy of your old showroster.php and rename your showroster templates (I recommend giving them an underscore prefix; Example: _SHOWROSTER). When upgrading from version, make a copy of all your templates, then revert the templates back to their default, and then uninstall the older version. Also, make sure you delete the bitfield_showroster.xml file in the /includes/xml directory; this will cause database errors if not deleted.

Step 1: Download the showroster_vX.X.X.zip file and unzip it.

Step 2: Upload the files to their correct directories.

Upload the showroster.php to the /forum/ directory.
Delete the bitfield_showroster.xml in the /forum/includes/xml/ directory (if there).

Step 3: Admincp > Plugin & Products > Manage Products > Add/Import Product

Import the product-showroster_v4.x.x.xml file.

Step 4: Admincp > User Profile Fields > Add New/Update User Profile Field

Add all the Profile Fields you plan to use and keep track of their number(s) (i.e. field6, field7, etc.).

Step 5: Admincp > Settings > Options > ShowRoster Settings

Update the settings for your roster: usergroups allowed to view the roster, usergroups that are displayed on the roster, the title and field# for each of your columns on the roster, and any of the many other settings.

Step 6: Admincp > Styles & Templates > Expand > ShowRoster Templates > SHOWROSTER, showroster_header, and showroster_userbits

You only need to adjust these if you have custom adjustments to make. Otherwise, there is no longer a need to change these.

In regards to the NavBar Tab label...you know, I had meant to do that in the last version so I'll eventually get around to doing that in the next version. I'll go add that to the Things to do so I don't forget. I probably won't do another version till December and most likely I'll forget requests. .

Not a problem. The 1st CSS is what I got from IRISH, I just reused it on your v4.0.4. I can get you the xml he sent me if you like.

No rush on the Tab, I just relabel it in the php file it's just a "Nice to have" feature.

I'd prefer to just see the exact css template you are using now. I made most of my adjustments from IR15H's xml file, but some of them did not work for me when I updated the MOD. It could be they just didn't work with my style, but if I had your file that may do the trick. Unless you have other changes in your other templates as well.

I just realized, I must have been daydreaming or something when I suggested field27. I know for a fact that would not work because it is a profilefield. I probably did a copy/paste and forgot to update it to the current variable. Anyhow, try this:

As one of my custom profile fields, I use a Multiple-Selection Menu. When I view the roster it simply displays a number (ie: 542) instead of the selected items available. I can get it to work with Multiple-Line Text Box and Single-Line Text Box but not the Multiple-Selection Menu or Multiple-Selection Checkbox. Wondering if you have any suggestions.

sorry, but could it be that in 4.0.7 the statistics are not shown ?
so ive added a profile field (field37) and it is shown on the normal roster, but in statistics its all 0.

Where do i have edit the "statistics" page or where did he gets the Data (to know which one he should add ?)
ok, got it, need to set the sorting to single table, but is there any option to get it work with group listing ?

Great mod, have it installed and working but the alignment of the columns are off.

Tried changing the <td> to <td width="15%"> but it didn't change anything.

Is there something i am missing?

Be better if i showed you what was happening.

As you see the all the columns are out of alignment. On your screen shots they are all perfect

You'll need to adjust the td width in the showroster_userbits for that to work right. That is where the width is changing.

Back in the first version I tried to get it to work with the checkbox and it never did. Sorry to say, but I really don't know what to do to get the multiple-selection option to work with this mod. I'll take a look at it again this winter though when school is over, maybe something will hit me.

Sorry, not sure what you mean here. I'll look into it tomorrow if you respond back with more info.
