I'm an unemployed computer programmer... if you appreciate the work I have done on this mod, please don't hesitate in offering me a donation by clicking the "Support Developer" link to the right of this text. A donation of $50 or more automatically gives you the right to remove the copyright footer for this modification from a single forum. This is a new modification, spawning from the old VB 3.x Video Directory modifications. For all intents and purposes, both my old Video Directory Remixed mod, and Survivor's original Video Directory mod have been discontinued. Neither of us are maintaining these older versions, they will not receive any future updates and we will not be providing any support. This version has a new name because it has been completely rewritten from scratch and is not being built on Survivor's old code. Because of this, if you are upgrading to this new version, from the old version, be sure to read this entire post in order to understand the upgrade process. What is this mod? Simply put, this mod is a directory for media. It supports URL inputs, in order to extract meta data and directorize media into a simple and easy to understand library. Users can add their favorite media from a select few online distribution centers (such as Youtube or Vimeo) and categorize and tag them as they see fit. This mod offers rudimentary support for the hosting of local media. An administrator can upload a media to the /customVID/ (default) directory; then add the media to the library using the URL code of "local:filename". Media hosted locally will be displayed using JWPlayer, but will not provide meta data, so that kind of information will need to be entered manually. Demo: http://www.8wayrun.com/media.phpFeatures:
If you are upgrading from before version 1.1, please install that version first.
There is a conflict with this modification and some of Valter's VSA modifications that will prevent navbar permissions from being handled correctly. I don't know exactly who's fault it is; but I'm pretty sure there are no errors in my code that would be causing this problem. There is a work around for this however. Download Now

I wouldn't say that IB have royaly ++++++ it up at all, For me vB is just getting better with each new release, I cannot see anything on the market that I'd change over too, the new stylevars are a step in the right direction as they will be the same (maybe altered / ammended slightly) for vb4.0.9 and vb 4.1 and you gotta start somewhere, better now than when 4.1 is out as it gives time to sort out styles.. |

Well, It was working fine with 1.6, but 1.7 gives me this DB error when I updated services.
Having looked at the DB there is no "svcType" column, how can I add this?? Database error in vBulletin 4.0.8: Code:
Invalid SQL: INSERT INTO media_service (svcName, svcRegex, svcURL, svcFeed, svcValue2, svcThumb, svcTitle, svcDesc, svcLength, svcTags, svcMovie, svcWidth, svcHeight, svcStream, svcType, svcError) VALUES ('own3D', 'http://[a-z]*?[\\.]?own3D\\.tv/video/([\\d]+)', 'http://www.own3D.tv/video/{serviceVAL}', 'http://www.own3D.tv/video/{serviceVAL}', 'null', '$link[\'image_src\']', '$meta[\'og:title\']', '$meta[\'description\']', 'null', '$meta[\'keywords\']', 'http://www.own3d.tv/stream/{serviceVAL}&autoStart={apTF}', 640, 360, 'null', 'application/x-shockwave-flash', 'null'); MySQL Error : Unknown column 'svcType' in 'field list' Error Number : 1054 Request Date : Tuesday, October 26th 2010 @ 08:19:39 PM Error Date : Tuesday, October 26th 2010 @ 08:19:39 PM Script : http://mysite.com/media.php?do=admin_host_restore Referrer : http://mysite.com/media-library/admin/host/ IP Address : xx.xxx.xx.xxx Username : Pete Classname : vB_Database MySQL Version : 5.0.77 .. |

I got something similar but I un-installed and tried a re-install. When I saw I didn't have any data I did a restore of the database and upgraded. I am rebuilding thumbnails now but I can see that the megavideo ones are still black squares and also all the videos are not visible in exploer 7 and 8.
Not sure about that "svcType" thing but you could try re-uploading re-installing it. That cleared up a different issue for me when I got an error for the services. |

Okay... the svcType error has been fixed. It was a problem only for NEW installs; upgraders would not see the error. SvcType has been depricated; but I forgot to remove the references to it in the initial install.
The only way to see the error as an upgrader would be if you forgot to upload all the new files. The issues with videos not displaying in IE should now be fixed as well... |

Hi Jaxel, I have not upgraded to 4.0.8 because it really is a ++++ed up piece of shit.
Anyway i'm still on 4.0.7, is the upgrade only for vB4.0.8 or can it be applied to 4.0.7 too? I'm particularly motivated to upgrade since all the admin setting are now under one drop down as they should be. And if i can upgrade, it's just a matter of overwriting the old files with the new ones? Thanks |
