Great idea, however, it does not recognize members that have chosen to not receive admin email, which is a MAJOR problem from an Anti-Spam perspective.
This is basic 101 for any mass email that you MUST honor the choice to receive or not receive admin emails, and this mod violates that.
PossumX Uninstalls immediately.
Spent 2+ hours MANUALLY reviewing and editing 250+ returned emails, of which 237 had already been marked as no admin email from prior returns. Waste of my time and effort to have to do this.
Like I said, great mod idea, but without this recognition in vB, it ain't ready for prime time, lite or paid version.

Yup, I found this too when I lloked at it again, this on top of the fact that it totally ignores forum permissions (post 100) and sends out the content of your private and/or admin forums is a big problem.
Too bad, had potential. The private forum thing is another MAJOR issue. Just goes to show, all mods are NOT created equal. Can you imagine having paid for this mod at the website, as from what I see, similar issues are in that routine as well.
Should be taken down as these holes are serious issues, and the not recognizing email preferences in vB could get your board blacklisted.

Actually, the premium version is cleared of any issues. It also has the ability for people to subscribe/unsubscribe. I have a few private projects in progress, as well as development of the premium mods, and I'm also working as a programmer for a network of 40+ websites. Hope you can see why I haven't had time to update this version yet.
As a matter of fact, the only issue i've seen are a few people on the light version not being able to see all of the images due to their css being stored as file. This is a free modification, is it really much of a hastle to switch your css to be included in the meantime (even if only while sending it)?
As for forum permissions not being intact, that is exactly why their is an option available for "Excluded Forums" This allows for much more flexibility imo.

That is the problem though isn't it, as I stated I HAVE SET the option for excluded forums and THAT setting is ignored, the "excluded" forums are listed and content is posted.......

Strange, it hasn't done that on mine....
as for the images if you included the whole path in your VBB image settings paths instead of the short ref to root path, then the images are downloaded (if you give them permission to)when you open the email.

Exactly
Be sure to include the forumid's, separated by a comma.

I think you missed the point. The forum exclusions does not work properly or consistently for many, even when the forum IDs are entered, it includes them. I develop code professionally and on the side for free, so I am all too clear on how support works.
The issue of subscribe/unsubscribe is great, for the paid version however, recognition of the internal vB profile option to NOT receive admin email is critical, even in the lite version. To violate that is a straight violation of Anti-Spam rules/laws and can (and will) get your forum email blacklisted.
I already had my CSS files issue resolved, that was a no brainer, and easy to do.
I understand you have many pokers in the fire, and can appreciate that, however, the issue I raised makes this mod completely unusable for anyone concerned about being blacklisted (which should be any responsible forum admin, and I admin many forums).

The same could be said for any newsletter mod without bounced email handling. Still many admins choose to send out bulk mail / newsletters without this function, simply because there is no newsletter that offers this. My point is that admins are already running a large risk on getting blacklisted.
Getting blacklisted is a risk a lot of people take. I can tell you personally even when i've been blacklisted in the past it was lifted in about a day or so. Making it so that only users who have "Receive email from admins" checked, will not help your chances of not getting blacklisted so much. And if the forumid's aren't working, feel free to send me a private message to troubleshoot, or just make sure you're entering them right as loads of people have been able to use it just fine o_0.
