This hack is now being released as a "Lite" version. All existing features are still there, do not worry. However, a premium version is comming soon and will have even more features. This hack will continue to be supported. The only difference is that a premium version is comming shortly with more features.

**Before Making An Add on **
Please consult with me before making an add on to this hack. As it is my work and such, the add ons that you are trying to make for it may be in the next release and/or premium version.

* There was a problem with a code that made it so that if you didn't have an image in an ad and then edited that ad to include an image, it overwrote noimage.gif (which is not good!). This was fixed!
* Ad ID Number now shows in an ad
* Price now shows in an ad

What does this do?
This hack gives you a classified ad system. Multiple categories can be created and users can post ads in these categories. Other users can then rate them and give them feedback accordingly.

What features does this hack provide?

• Main page with statistics, categories, recent activity, etc.
• Ability to arrange ads in categories
• Categories can have their own images
• See how many total, closed, and open ads are in each category.
• Ratings and category counts are automatically rebuilt
• After the timeframe of the ad is up, the ad is closed
• Add new classified ads with images, description, title, and more!
• Users have their own page where feedback and such shows.
• Paypal button is automatically generated if the user enters a paypal email address. Clicking this button will allow the user to buy whatever the other user is selling.
• Add extra fields to ads
• Ability to edit and delete ads
• Control everything from the amount of results showing per page in searches, to the size of thumbnails.
• GIF, JPG, and PNG images are supported.
• Search through ads
• And much much more!

Step 1. Import the following product: product-sr_classifieds.xml
Step 2. Upload the files in the upload folder.
Step 3. CHMOD the sr_classifieds/uploaded folder and sr_classifieds/uploaded/thumbnails folder to 777
Step 4. Do the edits located below
Step 5. Update newly added usergroup permissions and options
Step 6. Enjoy the hack.

Also, I noticed there is a limit to the number of items that can be added to the drop down list. I need and want to have dropdowns with COUNTRY and STATE as that way I can build searches to allow members to only look for items in specific countries or states...

If someone figures that out I would love to know!

Also, I would like to suggest a differerent layout... would it be possible to move the latest X-classifieds to the center with the categories being listed on the right margin (obviously it is possible)... Then I would personally like to see the last classifieds listed in the layout like when we go into the categories... I know this is personal preferences and I can hack that later...

Also, I would like to be able to reorder the Custom fields directly in the "Extra Fields Manager" as having to open each field and set the display order is a major PITA.

Please add me to your list and I may need your help with a couple specific mods that I will need in the finished product but there is no sense in me coding that in this Beta version...

Yes.

Edit the template: sr_classifieds_adbit

Search for:
<if condition="$ad[active] == '2'"><b>$vbphrase[closed]:</b></if>

After that add:
<b>$ad[type]</b>

$ad[type] works pretty much anywhere there's an ad. I just didn't make it automatic because i figured some didn't want that.

In phpmyadmin, go to sr_classifieds and then go to fieldx, where x is the id of the field you want to make longer. Then change it to mediumtext and take off the limit

Sorry, I wasn't clear... My issue isn't the length of the variable (set at 100-char) but an issue with how many items I can add to the pick list (I didn't count but say 30-states as opposed to 50)...

Now, when I go into the database I see that the way this is set up that the table "classifieds_fields" has the type defined as "SELECT" and options type is set as varchar(200). I think I need to change this to mediumtext....

The problem is it looks like that would requre that I change all the fields to Mediumtext which will make this pretty large (size wise)...

EDIT: Changing it to MEDIUMTEXT fixed my problem

Also, I have not found this yet but when I update a custom field I am getting an error that says...

Could not find phrase 'sr-classifieds_x_fieldsaved'.

Thanks! I also am in the process of updating my templates with the option values for yje "Buy, Sell, Looking, Offering" to say:

<option value="WTB">Buy</option>
<option value="WTS">Sell</option>
<option value="WTT">Trade</option>
<option value="FREE">Free</option>

I think these were the only two I had to modify:

sr_classifieds_edit
sr_classifieds_new

Looks much better with these changed!
