Change Posts Owner

Tested on vBulletin 3.6, 3.7 and 3.8

What does this modification do?
It can change the owner and date of multiple threads and post. For this, it adds another option to your mod actions on forumdisplay, showthread and search results. After selecting some threads or posts, you can choose the new owner by name or by UserID. "By name" works with the AJAX namesuggestion, we all know it from writing a PM. After changing the name, it rebuilds thread/forum counters and post counter of old and new user. Attachments will also be assigned to new user.

Installtime: <1 minutes
Difficulty: very easy (1 product)

Demo is not available, due to missing permissions on my board.

Please click Mark as INSTALLED, otherwise I will not support you.

Features
- Can change owner and date of selected posts and threads (including database attachments - it will not move file attachments)
- Can change owner to unregistered user and back
- Can accept user id and username
- Username input is driven by AJAX
- Post count of involved users will be increased/decreased
- Thread and forum counters of involved threads and forums will be rebuild
- Supports inline moderation
- Makes use of $template_hooks, hooks and simple group permissions
- Every change will leave a notice in moderation log

Features for future releases
- Incrementally change time, f.e. first posts is 12:01:01, second one will get 12:01:02h, third one 12:01:03h....
- Moving file based attachments to the new user

How to install?- Simply import product

How to upgrade?- Uninstall existing product, install new one

I was not careful enough to create the admin account in the new vB with a diff. e-mail from the admin in the old vB, so this user was NOT migrated. The posts and threads are there, with "RenatoMN" as a unregistered user.

May you explain how can I find all posts/threads from this unregistered user and change the owner to my new user without need to browse all the forums? The posts aren't returned when I search posts by author username.

You will need to run SQL Queries to accomplish this to all postings:

update post set userid=1 where username="User"
update thread set postuserid=1 where postusername="User" 


Replace userid/postuserid with the UserID of the new owner, also replace "User" with the Username of the old user.

This mod looks great. I was wondering though.... I had a mod a while back which actually let me post a new thread or reply to a thread as a different user. I need to satisify my alter ego's. Is there any way to work that feature into your mod?

Are there any permission settings on this Mod for who can use it or not ?

Hey, Great mod .. But what if a username was 666? Wouldn't that be a conflict with the username and userID? Or does a username take precedence over userID?

Also, when you edit the date it is setup as Day - Month - Year, This is confusing because in the actual thread the date is setup as Month - Day - Year.

Ive just attempted to install this mod but i am getting this error when i import it and thus need to 'go back'

XML Error: Undeclared entity warning at Line 475

Any ideas what i need to do.

You can enter the usergroup that can use this via options.

Another interesting setting would be a "Time Offset": My server is the USA, my seat in Switzerland. This means: I always have to subtract 9 hours when changing the posting time (e.g. to add an "intro post" to an existing thread).

But anyway: Thanks again for this nice hack!
