No support by the author.

What it does is to allow you to take some forums off your Forum Home page and display them on a second instance of the forumhome page.

This is useful if you have a long list of forums and have some forums like archives that your users don't need to access very often.

This mod differs from Kirby's (Andreas's) in that his allows you to limit the NUMBER of forums shown per page. Mine allows you to select the specific forums to show.

I have not tested it, but I believe this will allow you to use any number of forumhome pages. You could do one per category if you show chose.

This is now a product. No code changes are required on your part. Please note that if you have microstats installed, it will yell about an uncached template. The template is not uncached. It doesn't exist. It is not creating extra queries. I am not sure how to suppress that error at this point.

My thanks to Kirby for pointing the way on how to make the functions_forumlist part of this mod a plugin instead of a code change.

Demo:

Page One
Page Two

Instructions:
1. Install the product.
2. Go to each forum and set which page to display it on. 1,2,3 etc. I have only tested 1 and 2.
3. Create links to the other instances of forumhome. Put these links where you would like them to be - in your navbar, side panel, header, tabs, whereever. Example links are the demo links posted above.
4. Contribute something to this site. Help somebody with a question or release some code of your own. Keep the giving circle going.

It it possible to have a forum as private.... and when users who have permission to view that forum will be redirected to the page2 forumhome?

Not redirected. But, when the forum becomes visible to them, it will be visible on page 2

Hello Amy,

I am not too clear if this is what I am looking for. Basically I want another forumhome page to show up when a members visits a forum. Does your hack provide this feature? Thank you

Hi Amy, is there a way how to limit "New Post" link on forumhome2 only for its forums...?

Thank you!

I'm not sure. I had some problems with a server upgrade at the same time I installed 3.6.4 and have turned off most extensions until I have more time to play.

@ Allan - I just checked and it works like a charm on 3.6.4.

@ amykhar - One question... How could I modify this so instead of using page=1, page=2, and page=3; I could use text instead of numerals to designate the different forumhome pages? As in:

page=main
page=auctions
page=premium
page=those-pesky-sneaks-wont-guess-this-url

Anyone who notices the url naming sequence for pages 1 and 2 might wonder what's on pages 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Edit: I tried using text instead of numbers and it didn't work.

You can do the above with http://www.vbseo.com/222/ check out my site to see it in use

www.gamerzneeds.net/forums/gfx.html is page 2
www.gamerzneeds.net/forums/techzone.html is page 3

**Urgent problem**

I've been using this for a very long time. and now that im on vb 3.6.4 I have now lost the setting in the admincp, in forum manager, where you set what page that forum is on, that is now no longer there. so i cant change any of the current pages, and any new forums I add, they are now being set on page 1.
