Major Additions - Video-Directory Remixed

This modification is based on the Video-Directory modification by Survivor and vBPoint.org.
His mod is NOT dead, its still alive and kicking; but he has informed me that he just doesn't have the time to maintain it and give support. So until he is able to work on it agian; I've been doing a series of updates.

What is this mod?

This mod adds a fully featured and fully integrated video directory archive to your forums. Users can add their favorite videos from their favorite video service to the directory. I only support a few select hosters; but the hoster scripting is XML base, so any user can create their own scripts for any number of hosting services. The old MyVideo and Sevenload scripts from Survivor's version will still work, but they wont pull in Keyword/Tagging information, nor the video length time codes.

• Fully administratable and a myriad of settings for personalization.
• Complete customization of permissions based on usergroups.

• Contribution profiles for users.
• Keyword profiles for tag cloud.
• Built in comment system for videos.
• Search function for titles and descriptions.
• RSS feed of videos.

Installation Procedure:

1. Upload all files in the "upload" directory to your forum root.
2. CHMOD /videothumbnails/* and /includes/videoserviceapi to 777.
3. Import the product "product-videodirectory.xml" in your Product Manager.
4. Follow the on screen instructions to configure your video hoster settings.
5. Refresh your administration control panel to see the new navigation links.

NOTES:
vBulletin 3.7.0 instituted a new avatar-thumbnail system. There is a high probability that you are unaware of this new system and may have failed to setup your vBulletin to make use of it. Make sure that a directory called /thumbs is located in your avatar directory and CHMOD it to 777. Then go into Maintenance > Update Counters and run the Rebuild Custom Avatar Thumbnails process.

Upgrade Procedure:

1. Upload all files in the "upload" directory to your forum root.
2. Take note of the information stored in Limits of Videos > General Settings.
3. Import the product "product-videodirectory.xml" in your Product Manager.
4. Re-establish your previous Limits settings in Videos > General Settings.
5. Re-import ALL of your hosters and settings in Videos > Manage hosters.
   • You MUST remember to re-import your hosters after upgrading.

NOTES:
You may lose your category dataman when you upgrade. If no categories are listed after an upgrade, you will be required to rebuild your category dataman. Its very easy to rebuild it if you need to. Simply go into Videos > Manage categories, select ANY category and hit [Edit], then click [Save]. Your category dataman will automatically be rebuilt.

if i was not blind, there are no tags on tangle.com
and there is no enough info for thumbnails. i've to take a pre-assigned image as the default thumbnail.

try to grab this http://www.tangle.com/view_video.php...45cd290bc2ae2d . you will get a thumbnail cause there is a thumbnail for this video on the same page. but most of the videos on that site are not.

I just want to let you know one thing, hope you can help on this:

When I added a video from Tangle.com, I hit 'load information' and it filled everything except tags. The tags work fine for YouTube though.

It also does not show the correct thumbnail for the video.

It should show this one:

Instead, it shows the one in my screenshot.

Any way to sort the videos by rating, rather than by date? I'd like the top rated videos to be at the top when you click on a category.

Hello Jaxel I have installed this wondeful video directory, the installation went fine but i dont seem to have a video directory page in my admin panel, apart from in the vbulletin options. Also when I add a video URL and click on the button that says 'Load Information' nothing happens, I want to get this to work can you help me please?

Okay... I just moved my entire filesystem of avatars to the database, so that I could see and test what the problem is with the avatars in the comments...

And I couldn't find a problem... Avatars work in both the filesystem, and the database...

I assume you were answering my question. All my avatars are handled by filesystem not by database, so why they are called from /thumbs subdirectory?

I've Installed on a Test Forum the Version 1.2.2 and I Got Some Bugs:

1. YouTube Video Hoster didn't Installed Well (on vB 373).

I got that because when I tried to Export the Video Hoster it said File Didn't Existed. Also when I tried to Add a YouTube Video it didn't Worked and it didn't even allowed the Get Data Process.

All the Other Video Hosters Exported without any Problem.

2. When I Uninstalled the Product on that Test Forum and then Re-Installed Again, All Video Hosters Were Gone.

You Should Check that Un-Install and Re-Install Process, because it Damages the Video Hosters.

Because of what is Previously Mentioned, Could You Please Upload on the Mod's Files the Latest Versions (1.2.1 or 1.2.2) of the Basic Video Hosters that Come with the Product, Please? (YouTube, YouTubeHD, Dailymotion, and Metacafe), I think that'd save a lot of Troubles to Users of this Mod.

I Hope you can Fix those Bugs and also that Please You Update the Latest Basic Video Hosters.

Other Bug:

On YouTube and YouTubeHD the Link to the BB Code is Using the Number of the Video in the Directory and Not the Code at the End of the URL.

Example:

Video URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks8PZ8X6Yo8

BB Code: [video=Batman gets pwned]2[/video]

Embed Code: <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ks8PZ8X6Yo8&autoplay=1&fs=1&rel=0&ap=%2526fmt=22" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="896" height="529" wmode="transparent"></embed>

How can this be Corrected?

I tried Editing the includes/xml/videohoster-YouTube.xml and videohoster-YouTubeHD.xml and it didn't worked, and also seems correct in that File; what other File(s) should I edit to get the right Code on that BB Code?

In 3.70, Jelsoft added the "Pictures and Albums" section. They also added a /thumbs sub-directory to the avatars for picture commenting. If you installed from scratch, 3.7+ you will be fine... however, if you upgraded to 3.7+, your /thumbs subdirectory may not be chmodded correctly, or may not exist at all. To fix this; create the sub-dir, chmod it 777, and run the "Rebuild Avatar Thumbnails" script in maintenance.

I've just Installed 2 Video Hosters (Google and Yahoo) that are in this Thread, and I just sae the same BB Code Error, so I guess the Error is in the Mod and Not in the Video Hosters; is there a Plugin or a File I can Edit to Correct that Error, Jaxel?

(I detected that Error some days ago but I thought it was because I Upgraded on my Forum, but now that I made a Fresh Install in a New Test Board 100% Clean of other Mods, I can see that this is a Bug in the Mod and I motivated to Post it here for you to know it and Correct it).
