CakePHP & vBulletin integration - Universal Login
We are planning to integrate users of our application (developed in CakePHP) with vBulletin. User have to log only once to use the features of the application and vBulletin. Is it possible? If so, would you please show me the right direction?
Thanks |

It is certainly possible: either by "bridging" the two systems, or by modifying the authentication system of one or the other.
In Pre-Sales, however, we cannot go into much detail. |

be aware that even if both engines are compatible, it's not because someone can code a bridge that the bridge will be instantly accessible... you may have to check with this first...

It is quite possible; as long as both integrated systems are looking for the same information in the same cookie on the user's computer, they will both authenticate.
This will require modifying one of the two systems to use the method the other one uses for authentication. I suggest that you look into modifying your custom system to work with the vB user database, as your copy of vB will not be able to recieve official support if it has been modifed to the extent required to read a third-party user database instead of its own. |

He can not receive PM's as he is unlicensed.
