Developer Last Online: Jan 2019
From the creators of French and Toast comes a sweet and sticky enchanement to the New York Times best-seller: AME - Auto Media Embedding
AME 2.0 - The Embedder Strikes Back! AME has won Mod of the Month for Spetember 08. Thanks! Note that 2.5 Gold has been released. Click Here. Discussions for AME 2.5 RC 1 start here AME 2.0 is the next version of the "Mod of the Month" winning media embedder that:
Which sites are supported? At time of counting this, there are about 170 sites supported. But I have only included a few common standards as default (yahoo, youtube, myspace, google and Amazon). Why only these? AME was designed with its own import and export system that enables users to create or modify definitions and share them with the community. This keeps the system lightweight, customisable and saves us all from having to upgrade every time a media site changes their URL structure or if I add another site. Check out the 'add ons' section of this post below to see availible add-ons. Installation/Upgrade
Change Log 2.0.2 - fixed added slashes in quote blocks (DoH!), vm advanced error and incrimented product version. You need to replace include/ame_bb_code.php and re-import the product-ame.xml to upgrade 2.0.1 - fixed missing backslashes in code blocks 2.5 Pre-Release information Attached to this post is pre-release of version 2.5 2.5 is a pretty major upgrade from the 2.0 series and adds the following functionality to 2.0:
Please note that 2.5 is a pre-release so there will be issues. If you want more stability, use 2.x until this version becomes gold FWIW: The only items currently outstanding are to add some missing admincp help. The rest is working as intended as far as I can tell nJoy Show Your Support

No, I don' t have a youtube account. Then you seem to report the same as eagle eyes.
I doubt there is much you can do about it. For me it looks more like a bug in youtube. Why do you want to keep registered users from seeing embedded videos? Only the other way around makes sense - keeping unregistered users from viewing. |

I'll try and get you an updated definition set in my thread this weekend guys. I'm just going to be real busy for the next few days.

can you upload .mov files with this ?

This doesn't upload media. This merely embeds media already hosted somewhere.

How about videos that have been uploaded to my server and placed in video gallery? Is there a way to get those embedded into post?

In most cases, yes. First you'd need the Local Hosted definitions which are available in my Add-On. Then you'd need to make sure that all your uploaded media ends in unique extensions; meaning DIVX videos end in .divx, MOV videos end in .mov, etc. You can inquire more about it in one of my threads.

Hi Geek,
This is an incredible modification and it deserves Mod of the month award. I know you've been slammed with so many requests, so I will add one more Have you considered to create a vBAdvanced module to display latest/most viewed/random videos from posts which are coming from AME modification codes. This thread has such a module and also explains how to create a module for latest videos inside a post, but its limited by only when you already have defined a custom BB Code for single source videos (youtube, metacafe etc..). and its not generalized as AME. http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19064&highlight=videos&page=2 AME goes further, because you don't need to enter your BB Codes. It has an universal BB Code [ame]. I tried to enter ame in above module settings but it wasn't working because URL were becoming in the form of http://www.youtube.com/v/www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_HAHiJjBls which clearly is not correct because url is displaying twice. Removing www.youtube.com from the template wasn't working too because it was then displaying all of the youtube page inside the specific frame size that you set in module options Long story short: I believe someone can make a module to display videos from AME and I appreciate if you can advise how to display them on vBAdvanced too. Thanks. Val. |

Hello,
please check this post: http://www.xbass.ro/forum/showpost.p...6&postcount=24 It has that video that does not want to work. If you click the link and go to youtube the video is playing, but then, the video says it's not available. Also I have a member who told me that none of his videos are loading, I told him that it's from him but he sais it's only not loadig on that website... even if it works fine with me on both IE & FireFox. Also I tried posting that video on a phpBB forum with a youtube addon and the video is working. Very strange. Ah, I had the 2.0.2 version, now I have put the RC version. Same problem. |
