AME 2.0 -Auto Media Embedding for posts, blogs, visitor and group messsages
Developer Last Online: Jan 2019
From the creators of French and Toast comes a sweet and sticky enchanement to the New York Times best-seller: AME - Auto Media Embedding
AME 2.0 - The Embedder Strikes Back! AME has won Mod of the Month for Spetember 08. Thanks! Note that 2.5 Gold has been released. Click Here. Discussions for AME 2.5 RC 1 start here AME 2.0 is the next version of the "Mod of the Month" winning media embedder that:
Which sites are supported? At time of counting this, there are about 170 sites supported. But I have only included a few common standards as default (yahoo, youtube, myspace, google and Amazon). Why only these? AME was designed with its own import and export system that enables users to create or modify definitions and share them with the community. This keeps the system lightweight, customisable and saves us all from having to upgrade every time a media site changes their URL structure or if I add another site. Check out the 'add ons' section of this post below to see availible add-ons. Installation/Upgrade
Change Log 2.0.2 - fixed added slashes in quote blocks (DoH!), vm advanced error and incrimented product version. You need to replace include/ame_bb_code.php and re-import the product-ame.xml to upgrade 2.0.1 - fixed missing backslashes in code blocks 2.5 Pre-Release information Attached to this post is pre-release of version 2.5 2.5 is a pretty major upgrade from the 2.0 series and adds the following functionality to 2.0:
Please note that 2.5 is a pre-release so there will be issues. If you want more stability, use 2.x until this version becomes gold FWIW: The only items currently outstanding are to add some missing admincp help. The rest is working as intended as far as I can tell nJoy Show Your Support

Hi Greek, i've two request:
1) it's possible to restrict the 'video box' into the sign? 2) important: it's possible set a limit of the number of the videos that an user can add into his/her sign? Thx for all |

However, I just noticed something awfully strange.... I just checked a few earlier posts in my forums. My members linked to some Youtube videos, only using the URL and not the previous Goldbrick plugin. It seems as though the convert then rebuild option had worked correctly on that post. Here's one that converted and rebuilt just fine: http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/showpost.php?p=21198 Why won't the test post that I created rebuild properly? |

okay, new, MUCH worse problem... I uninstalled ame 2.5 RC1 (didn't select the feature to convert ame tags back to urls). Then, I installed ame 2.0.2.
I ran the conversion, then rebuild and nearly all of my posts that had URLs crashed the pages. Here's an example of what had happened: Attachment 87802 As you can see, this got pretty nasty. The post content itself somehow merged into the ame tag, and somehow, one of the html tags that got generated from the ame tag didn't properly close. |

okay, I didn't think it could get any worse, but it did. I ended up having to drop my post table and re-import the backup that I created. I thought that worked until....
I just had a moderator tell me that he tried to post in our forums only to find out after he clicked "post reply" that a post that he created in a different thread showed up in place of the post that he just created. Now, I have no clue what to do... How do you even go about diagnosing this problem? I've hardly had any problems with my forums, until I tried installing this plugin. The only thing that I can think of at this point is to try and rerun the vbulletin install script. |

After upgrading to 2.5 RC1 I'm now getting warnings at the top of the page on the advanced edit of editing a post.
Here are the warnings..... Warning: Missing argument 6 for ame_match(), called in [path]/includes/ame_bbcode.php(323) : regexp code on line 1 and defined in [path]/includes/ame_bbcode.php on line 442 Warning: preg_match() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in [path]/includes/ame_bbcode.php on line 670 (vB version 3.7.3 PL1) Hope you can help. |

just a quick update on my problem. I had to drop my existing table and re-import, but it seems that the critical error (eg. crashing my forums) has been fixed.
Now, if I could only get the ame plugin to work correctly, I'd be set |

Sweep - the problem is that 2.5 is very different than 2.0.2. Downgrading without removing the AME tags will result in the problem you are experiencing. Im not sure why your test post isnt converting correctly other than remember that the conversion tool is just a 'tool' for helping you to remove previous media systems. The problem you are having (if I understand correctly) is in converting a post that has an old media tag and an ame tag in it. My guess is that either AME isnt recognising the previous tag or it is skipping the post because there is an ame tag already in it. Regardless, all other areas should be functioning as intended considering its a pre release
