I turned off access under v3arcade and turned on 'Can this group purchase Arcade Access?' in vbPlaza for each usergroup, but am not able to access the arcade.

after setting that option in the usergroup manager you have to then set 'No' for the Arcade Permissions in the usergroup manager (same page) for can play arcade/ can view arcade.

The way to setup ArcadeAccess to make it so users MUST purchase access is quite simple:
Lets use Registered Users for example:
1) Set the arcade permissions to no for 'Can View Arcade' and 'Can Play Arcade.'
2) Then set the vbBux/vbPlaza option for "Can Purchase ArcadeAccess."
This will make it so all registered users will not be able to play the arcade unless they purchase the "ArcadeAccess" item from the vbPlaza.
If you do not wish for the usergroup to have to purchase ArcadeAccess, then simply set the Arcade Permissions for "Can View Arcade" and "Can Play Arcade" to Yes. And leave the "Can Purchase ArcadeAccess" set to No for the vbBux / vbPlaza option.
thats excellent CMX, thanks for explaining that..
now..on the flip side of that....
if i want regged users to access and play arcade, but without having to buy access with pass...thats sorted above...but theres no clear indication anywhere that the user is being charged to play a game??
is there anything different that neeeds setting up to get this to work, or is it done using those settings u mentioned above, but its just not that obvious?
i feel so noob or something near to that because i don't get it working...
this is what i did
on my site it was required to have at least 1 post to be able to play arcade.
so i made an user test
gave him 50 postcount
1000000 points
so logged in and bought arcadeaccess
and then i get this error
test, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
well the account is enabled so that is not the issue
normally a user is only allowed to play arcade if they are member of arcade permissions... so thats what is making it extra confusing for me
By default all users are charged to play the arcade, I'll be adding a new usergroup setting for vbBux / vbPlaza so that certain usergroups can play for free anyways.
This hack will modify the permission variables to GIVE the arcade permissions if they have purchased ArcadeAccess. If its not working properly, I'd need to access your Admin CP with Can Administer Plugins to try and track down the issue. It's possible there's a bug that doesnt affect all v3 Arcade Owners as its working for me using the above steps at www.vbplaza.com.
