NEARLY 300 SUPPORTED SITES FOR VIDEOS, AUDIO, GAMES AND MORE!
This is the most current repository of definitions for DJ's AME :: The Ultimate Automatic Media Embedder. These media definitions will expand your AME to support embedding from hundreds of websites. More videos. More than videos. These definitions will let you embed content from sites that include games, widgets, music players and so much more.
This repository was seeded by contributions from the vBulletin community over several years, but are curated here for easy access. Special thanks to Hotwheels and Danyloski for starting the tradition.
#CCCCCC
NEWS DJ's AME 2.5.7 is out! What are you waitin' fer?!
#CCCCCC
IMPORT DEFINITIONS ARE NOT INSTALLED They're imported through your AME CP. Which means you have to have AME installed first. You DO NOT import definitions through your Product Manager. I mean, you can try. But I'll make fun of you.
The READ ME file explains in more detail. Please don't skip it. I named it in big letters and everything.
#CCCCCC
VERSION INFO
These definitions are for AME 2.5.
A BETA set of definitions for AME 3 can be found here.
#CCCCCC
LIVE DEMO
This is my development area with a lot of test thread. As such, it's not a comprehensive list of all working definitions. You can find that below...
#CCCCCC
MEDIA DEFINITIONS LIST
The full list of definitions is available in the second post of this thread. Requests for new definitions should be made here (no registration required), rather than in this thread. It makes it easier for me to keep track and to prioritize. Please do not use this area to contact me.

I can't stress this enough. I NEED LINKS in order to troubleshoot problems. Links to the video. Links to the thread. I can't do anything without knowing what videos are causing the problem. If all you do is post that a particular site is not working and provide me with nothing to look at, well, how can I fix it? Following this simple guideline will save us both a lot of time and effort. (And check the FAQ on the first page. I worked really hard on that one. :erm: )
Please note that I do new definition requests in the order they were received and as timely as I can.
So the AME 2.0.2 XML definitions "mostly work" with 2.5. I understand that.
What happens if I install the 2.0.2 Master definitions and then apply the 2.5 "Delta" Master Definitions?
As we know, when we import definitions they are additive. Are there duplicate definitions in the 2.5 "delta" to the 2.02 definitions? Are there any 2.0.2 definitions that are not included in the 2.5 definitions?
Your description is very confusing. In the 2.0.2 definitions Mod, you are very explicit about what one can do with a fresh install. Here you are not explicit. I want a full set of definitions. What will happen if I delete all definitions and simply import the 2.5 "Delta" definitions? "Delta" implies there is something that needs to be added to another set so should I apply the 2.0.2 definitions?
I'm not sure how I could be any clearer. As I explained, "Delta" is just a named I picked at random. It doesn't imply anything, I thought it sounded cool. Import these just like you would any other set definitions. Delete your old ones, import the new ones. Nothing different to do here.

Thanks for the clarification. Believe it or not, the random "name" delta actually does cause confusion. Most computer folk are technically oriented (I have a couple of engineering degrees) and delta is very regularly used in common parlance to denote an incremental change to something, as Δ or δ. Clarifying that it was picked at random is helpful and I doubt I'm going to be the first to be confused by the name choice.
HD videos already display Widescreen, although constrained to fit into your player. Are you referring to the size of your video player? Because you can change that by changing the Height and Width attributes in the Replacement HTML. If your getting a Windowboxed video, then that's probably because the video was uploaded in that format.
DJ, that isn't correct. Youtube windowboxes HQ/HD videos that are encoded as widescreen so that they fit in the default size box for some unknown reason. Even my videos, which I know are widescreen HD/HQ, show up in windowboxes.
The easiest fix is to manually set the wrapper HTML's width and height to any 16:9 ratio resolution.
I am running 2.5 and when I load a thread with imbedded WMV files it autostarts. The code has a FALSE value for autostart so not understanding what the problem is.
I sometimes have multiple videos per thread so having all them autoplay is a real PITA.
Thanks!
EDIT: Seems to autostart only with Firefox, but ok with Explorer. Mmmm???

Well, I don't think most folks, at least not here, will be familiar with such advanced terminology. And I do explain in the first post, albeit briefly, why "Delta". I don't think it will come up too much. And it's not entirely untrue in the sense that it's only an incremental change in the definitions. And as detailed as I am about this stuff, if there had been any special instructions, I would have made sure to include them.

Does FireFox have any special settings that would autoplay certain videos? Because I haven't encountered this in FireFox before.
I only give out the details to vB staff. Nothing personal - I've just heard too many horror stories.
Any ideas on what it COULD be?
That's fine, I just find it generally faster then going through the motions of asking the pertinent Yes/No questions. To kind of streamline things, check all your settings and make sure you've set them to do what they say they do. Disable New Items should be set to No, Extract Destination Data needs to be turned on both globally AND per definitions that require them. Depending on the version you're using you could have the wrong set of definitions installed, so check to make sure if your using this set, that your on AME 2.5. If that all checks out, then we'll try something else.

I really appreciate your help, thanks.
Maybe I watch too much House MD, but all people lie - especially with the routine questions. So to show I really did check:

Now there's a role model. I chose to emulate Monk instead.
Mind if I see an example of a link not converting?
