About this hack:
One of the biggest problems on forums as you may know is 'posts boosting'. There are users who LOVE to say 'thanks' when ever they can. How can it hurt? Their post count goes up, they have nothing to loose.

There are also users who really like to express their thanks to post but don't like posting a post that looks like they're post boosting.

Then comes the moderators who have to delete people's thanks yous so a thread can look readable with out the thanks yous thrown around.

Finally comes the posters of these useful posts. They have no idea how many people really likes their posts if only some people say 'thanks'.

What this hack does is fix ALL these problems - except those users who like post boosting. This places a button called 'thanks.' When a user clicks on it, it places his username in a box right under the post saying that so-and-so says 'thanks' for the post. Every-one who clicks is placed in one box.

By giving your users the extra feature, you forum will look allot nice and organized. It is a guaranteed liking by ALL the members of your forum.

Im just getting weird errors though it works for me.

I have upgraded a test copy of my v3.6.8 to v3.7 (33k members / 900k posts / 1.8 million thanks) and it seems fine.
It has just been me going in and thanking, removing thanks, etc. from a couple of threads but I have not seen any issues yet.

I added the line SecFilterEngine Off to my .htaccess file and it fixed my problem.

I had the add-on installed on 3.6.10 and it was working fine. Just upgraded to 3.7. I uninstalled the add-on and then installed it again. The thanks button shows up fine when reading a post, but if you click on the thanks button I do not see the box that shows who has thanked this person. Am I missing something?

remove the following code.


Open template: memberinfo_block_statistics

find:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
$template_hook[profile_stats_pregeneral]
--------------------------------------------------------------------

and REMOVE that line from the template.

For 3.7 it doesn't show up for me at all. The admin options show up in admincp, but it does not show up anywhere on my actual forums. I'm using a custom style.

Basically I had the old version of 3.6.6 and upgraded the forum to 3.7.0 gold.

- I installed 7.4 thankyou mod worked fine with 3.7.0 gold until I decided to re-install the mod because **all** the thanks where not aligned properly, hence the problem started.


- Once I re-installed 7.4 Thankyou mod, it did not function at all, no buttons displayed even thou all the template edits were in place and the hack was enabled.


- I removed $template_hook[profile_stats_pregeneral] from memberinfo_block_statistics template and it started to work instantly.... no idea why that was.

**all** the thanks are not aligned/straight properly under the thread, that is the reason why I originally re-installed the mod, and still did not fix the problem.
