About this hack:
One of the biggest problems on forums as you may know is 'posts boosting'. There are users who LOVE to say 'thanks' when ever they can. How can it hurt? Their post count goes up, they have nothing to loose.

There are also users who really like to express their thanks to post but don't like posting a post that looks like they're post boosting.

Then comes the moderators who have to delete people's thanks yous so a thread can look readable with out the thanks yous thrown around.

Finally comes the posters of these useful posts. They have no idea how many people really likes their posts if only some people say 'thanks'.

What this hack does is fix ALL these problems - except those users who like post boosting. This places a button called 'thanks.' When a user clicks on it, it places his username in a box right under the post saying that so-and-so says 'thanks' for the post. Every-one who clicks is placed in one box.

By giving your users the extra feature, you forum will look allot nice and organized. It is a guaranteed liking by ALL the members of your forum.

PS - Doesnt happen in all forums but few,I have chcked permissions they r fine so something else is wrong.

I had no problems at all installing it into a beta 3 forum with about 500,000 posts and then upgrading the forum to rc-2. Went very smoothly.

I know this is from a while ago, but I didn't see this issue addressed after your post.

We've got about the same number of posts and I had trouble on our test forum with the Admin CP timing out during installation. Installation adds a column to the post table. I went to the CL and added the column via mysql (took 18:22), then used the vBulletin install procedure which didn't seem to mind that the column already existed and added the columns to the user table without a complaint. Will install on production forum (along with groan) assuming all tests out - thanks!

After upgrade (overwriting as instructed) some members are getting the same, "you do not have permission to access this page" error message as others have mentioned there.

It's also loading differently for some... for some it's the same (no refresh of the page) and for some the page refreshes.

I'd really appreciate some help with this. My members enjoy it now that they're used to it so I'd hate to have to disable or uninstall it.

I just have one question. I would like to add a box around both where is shows how many times you have been thanked and how many times you have thanked someone for the postbit_legacy template. How would I do that so the thanks mod shows up like this:

Did a search, couldn't find the answer. Seems that the Post Thank You button has proper cell spacing on the left of it but the right of it butts right up against my Blog This button. All the button in the post bit have the right spacing with the exception of this hack.

How can i add the proper spacing to this and/or move this back to the far right.

I was wondering if there is any way, in ACP to see a list where users are ranked according to the number of thanks they have given?
Something like a "Number of Thanks Given" top list...
