About this hack:
One of the biggest problems on forums as you may know is 'posts boosting'. There are users who LOVE to say 'thanks' when ever they can. How can it hurt? Their post count goes up, they have nothing to loose.

There are also users who really like to express their thanks to post but don't like posting a post that looks like they're post boosting.

Then comes the moderators who have to delete people's thanks yous so a thread can look readable with out the thanks yous thrown around.

Finally comes the posters of these useful posts. They have no idea how many people really likes their posts if only some people say 'thanks'.

What this hack does is fix ALL these problems - except those users who like post boosting. This places a button called 'thanks.' When a user clicks on it, it places his username in a box right under the post saying that so-and-so says 'thanks' for the post. Every-one who clicks is placed in one box.

By giving your users the extra feature, you forum will look allot nice and organized. It is a guaranteed liking by ALL the members of your forum.

Okay,I ve upload it, finally and I got this :

So,I disabled the thanks feature and forum back to normal now.

Are you sure you have downloaded the version for vb4 as this is a vb3 thread!, if you did download vb4 version when you uploaded did you make sure you used ftp in ASCii mode with overwrite?

I have done a bit of research about the ftp and for me it is very complicated. Simple I download the files to my pc and from there to my vb, control panel. Is it that wrong?!

Is it there any other way to get the thanks feature?

If you have got the vb4 version (found here https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=231666) and you uploaded the files to your forum root how did you do it?, if all you did was import the product through your vb control panel then yes thats your issue!

Importing a product via the admincp NEVER installs core files on your server, it's purely the front end stuff and templates. Uploading files to your server is done the same way you added your forum software to your server!, thats your problem, you dont have any of the core files to run the product installed.

Download FileZilla, it's easy to use and free.

If you want help you can PM me and we'll discuss it privately where i should be able to upload the files for you.

Hi there!

I've installed this mod on my 3.8.7 pl2 board, "Post Groan Hack 4.1" installed as well, everything works great.

But I have a question about conditionals.
I'd like to hide "reply" buttons and "quick reply" form UNTILL member didn't press "thanks" or "groan" button.

So I've tried to edit templates "showthread" and "showthread_quickreply" by adding this conditional:

How can I make it?

It will never work like you want unless you can program with ajax which if you need to ask you probably can't do. Your code might work if you refresh the page after thanking.
