PluhNews 1.5

UPDATED! Woohoo!

I just fixed/added stuff from version 1.0!

Download the new version 1.5 if you have the old 1.0 - lots of better features.

From the readme.txt:

This script isn't really a hack, just an external script that pulls information out of the VBulletin Database for news
or whatever reason you see fit. It's easy to install and configure, and has tons of the same features that many other
news scripts have, except you don't have to modify any Vbulletin source code (which I'm never comfortable doing
for some reason, but that's just me .

I had a really rough time finding a good, EASY news script that did what this does. I searched and found some, but
it really came down to easy installation. I didn't want to modify MySql tables or mess with the advanced Vbulletin
source (well, to me anyway). So I wrote this script. Yer.

This script was intended for VBulletin 2.0 only (I don't know if it will work with previous releases) and PHP4.

I've been trying for hrs to get this script to work on my home page but just got a blank white page.
I found this was because my forums are on a subdomain not in a directory.

My host wanted to charge ?25 GBP per year to enable a redirect from 'mysite.com/forums' to 'forums.mysite.com' so SSI would work.
My other options were frames (which screw up the hit counter) or...
iframe Akk!

I tried this, it works, it's free, and I'm happy

Yes you can, a part of my pluhnews.php looks like this:

I think its too complicated. You see Ill be using frames in my main page so i think Pluh News is better.

Anyway just to repeat my question earlier, how come there's no READ MORE link after the last character?

And I notice If i set the character limit, unfinished sentences end with a "...." . Worse case, last words using VB code will display the unfinished code. Is there a way to limit it to the last paragraph or last sentence?

why would you use pluhnews when there is vBhome lite, it is so much faster and better
