DownloadsII
DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options. It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself. Instructions & Support Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions. It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions. Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod! You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt). I try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if I don't ask for them. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications. Screenshots & Live demo At the bottom of this post, you can find some screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software. You can find a live demo on my own site: Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch). Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it. Changelog (version 6.0.9) Jelle
Help!!! I can't upload large files?? This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home. Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values. Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system). Add-ons There are currently no official add-ons. Unofficial add-ons are listed below. Just what I will need once there is a CMS widget.
I'll install it anyway to be ready. Looks like exactly what I need, thanks. I hope I'll be able to select which category I want to be displayed in the widget. For instance category blah blah blah file 1 file 2 file 3 |

As the error and the Readme.txt says: you need to add extensions in the AdminCP. They determine what file types are allowed.

Jelle,
This is a great mod!! I had used earlier versions on 3.8x and disabled for upgrade to 4.x. I only wanted to add what I did that ended up with me having all of my earlier files available and my one problem (which was on my side, not a problem with the mod). First, I had disabled when I first upgraded to 4.0 beta 2. I upgraded all the way to RC1. I could not recall exactly what I had deleted from my FTP, so I thought at first that I was doing a clean install of this mod. So, I first uploaded all of the uploads folder. Then, when I went to my product manager, I saw that I still had the earlier version installed. So, I switched over to the upgrade process. I uploaded the upgradev6.php file, ran the upgrade script. Only issue that caught me for a second was that my forum is in the root, so, I had to delete the /forum/ part of the url). Next, when I looked for most of the files from the readme txt., I could not find them (I guess they were overwritten, or maybe I had deleted earlier, I am not sure). I then went to my site home page and....got a database error. Scratched my head for a while, then realized that I did not upload the .download.php file that was outside of the folders (so this may catch some people unaware...or maybe it was just me being dumb). Once I uploaded that, I had all of my downloads from my original installation (thank you for that, you saved me about 100 hours of work!!). Anyway, not sure if this was helpful to anyone, but I thought I would share my experience. Thanks for this great mod, marked installed, MOTM, and rated highest! Where is your donate link? You get at least a beer on me! Looking forward to the widgets!!! |

Btw: there's a caching issue with your Latest Files. Visit downloads.php?do=manfiles&act=updatecounters to fix it. |
