DownloadsII
DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options. It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself. Instructions & Support Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions. It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions. Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod! You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt). I try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if I don't ask for them. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications. Screenshots & Live demo At the bottom of this post, you can find some screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software. You can find a live demo on my own site: Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch). Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it. Changelog (version 6.0.9) Jelle
Help!!! I can't upload large files?? This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home. Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values. Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system). Add-ons There are currently no official add-ons. Unofficial add-ons are listed below. Thank you for answering. My next question, would you suggest this one over the Links and Download manager.

I can't honestly say as I haven't used L&DM, however if I remember correctly when I was looking at which one to pick, that one didn't seem to serve my needs quite right. I'll have to take another look at it again to be more certain.
Jelle, I edited my previous post in case you read that already |

How do you uninstall the old version without getting a database error?

I don't plan to host any files on my server that user's can download. I want to be able to link to them. The store future I plan on using will be used for downloads. I just want to use one of the two download managers for free shared content.

Heyas Jelle, sorry to do this to yas :-/ But I have another request.
Need something for managing comments. I've been getting a lot of spam comments and theres no management/moderation page to see what they all are. Quote:
I'm pretty happy with this mod though. I'd been waiting on the upgrade to v6 for about a year or so. |

when doing the .htaccess what kind of file is this a text doc or a folder? okay i di the fix above and added the htaccess file I used php_value upload_max_filesize 30M php_value post_max_size 30M But I am still getting the same error |

Do the values you placed in the htaccess file show up in vbulletin? (shows the server and php stats when you first go into your AdminCP)
Secondly I don't think theres a way to upload a folder as that folder contains multiple files. You'd have to upload a zip/rar/7z or use some other compressed file. As for the text document, did you add .txt to allowable extensions? (Sorry Jelle if you want me to stop with support stuff, just trying to help out where I can when I can am in the IT business myself, its kinda second nature) |

is it possible that you can include a feature to allow admisn to set a different upload path?
since us who runs the downloads script with dedicated servers normally runs in multiple hdd with several hdd mounted on the sevrer, and if one hdd space runs out then we cant use the download script to upload anymore so if possibble allow us to set the upload path and let the user upload go directly to the specirfied path and dowload from that path aswell? |
