DownloadsII
DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options. It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself. Instructions & Support Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions. It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions. Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod! You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt). I try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if I don't ask for them. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications. Screenshots & Live demo At the bottom of this post, you can find some screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software. You can find a live demo on my own site: Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch). Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it. Changelog (version 6.0.9) Jelle
Help!!! I can't upload large files?? This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home. Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values. Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system). Add-ons There are currently no official add-ons. Unofficial add-ons are listed below. I can now - it seems that at least one of the files was in need of moderation - once I "approved" it everybody could download it.
Now this is strange because I've never required approval for uploads by Members. So I guess that leaves me with 2 questions. 1. What would cause a file to need moderating and how do I manage that? 2. Can I be notified if/when a file needs approval (assuming I can't figure out why) because otherwise it'll mean having to spend time every day checking the new uploads which I really don't want to do. Any help much appreciated. Mike |

DownloadsII 6.0.5 is an immediate security release fixing a severe CSRF security issue. Abusing this issue can lead to the unwanted removal of files, images and comments. So I recommend to update your site as soon as possible.

2. There was a pm notification mod for the vB 3 version, but it isn't ported yet to vB 4. No, currently there's no integration with vB's attachment system/asset manager. Quote:
You were probably inspired by the "Mark Forums Read" CSRF fix in vB 4.0.3? http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/proje...?issueid=32785 Quote:
Otherwise there's something wrong with it: you need to restart Apache after editing your php.ini, the .htaccess could be placed in a wrong folder (or it could have a wrong name, some people save it as .htaccess.txt for example), ... So the best thing to do if it won't work, is contacting the support of your hosting company. |

What's meant with "Added permission check for Update Counters"?

The update counters code was placed before the manage files permission check instead of after it. So everybody could run it if they knew the url. It could do no harm, but now it's fixed
