DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.



Instructions & Support

Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.

Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!

You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).

Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.

Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).

I am new to VB, I have done step 1 & 2 But i don't know where to change permissions. do i go to the downloads directory that i uploaded to the forums directory? I look at the code in the downloads but there is more then one place that has permissions

I see someone else had the same error as I am coming up with. Did this get resolved?
Anytime I try to edit a file and change it to a different category and try to save it, I end up with this error.

is there any chance you will add custom fields to this addon? (ex. Operating System, freeware/trial/etc)..it will be great..or maybe you can guide us on doing so..i don't know

or maybe you can create a commercial version, with more features and stuff...just a thought

That's a different error, but I can't think of anything causing such an uploaderid value. Editing a file and changing the category works fine for me.

Can you give me some more information? Do you have this every time you edit the category value of a file?

It's on my long term todo list. The first thing I want to add in the future is an RSS feed (vB 4.0.3 should have some better options for integrating that).

I did a little more testing and it seems no matter what I do as soon as I click on the "Edit File" button after making any changes (or even without any changes), I get the error.

I guess I need site access for that (vB/FTP). It could be a server configuration problem.

my user has added dl link instead of upoading directly throug the script, but because that site changing its domain it means all the links my user has put up will be invalid becausethe link will be from link1 to link2.
i know i can edit it on dl table search and replace all links through there but im wondering will that be enough
