DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.



Instructions & Support

Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.

Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!

You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).

Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.

Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).

In the category template, you reference a phrase that does not exist: dl2_file
I was able to add the phrase manually to re-title it.

Also, it would be nice if the category description were added to the META description of the category page.

AdminCP -> Languages & Phrases -> Search in Phrases -> "Search for text" enter 'Downloads" -> Click on 'Find' -> Srcoll down to "GLOBAL Phrases Containing 'downloads'" -> click 'edit' next to "Downloads2".

Is it possible to change the date of submitted downloads. I am changing over from another system and would like to keep the date downloads were submitted.

Hello, I have every thing setup ,But I cant find where to . Change the permissions?
where do you do this? I don't know where the downloads directory (inside your forums directory) is, can you help. do i use FTP to do this or in AdminCP?

when I find it do I change it to this ... writable (chmod 777).

I am new to VB, I have done step 1 & 2 But i don't know where to change permissions. do i go to the downloads directory that i uploaded to the forums directory? I look at the code in the downloads but there is more then one place that has permissions

Can you give me the path? or a Copy & Past of the code where i do this.
