There's a vB4 version of this mod available: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=231427
DownloadsII DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options. Because a lot of people keep on asking this: This mod works with any version of vBulletin 3.7.x and 3.8.x! It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself. Instructions & Support You can find an installation manual in the zip package (Readme-Install.txt). We try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if we don't ask for them, as we said we try to give a high level of support in this thread. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications. Screenshots & Live demo At the bottom of this post, you can find 6 screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software. You can see the newest version in action at the Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch). Changelog (version 5.1.2) Jelle
Help!!! I can't upload large files?? This is probably the second most asked question. Have a look at this post for the solution. It doesn't work with GARS?! If you also use the latest version of GARS, you will get the "Fields marked in RED must be filled in!" error when uploading a file. I provided a fix here on the GARS forums. Addons We are offering 3 addons for this mod at the moment (have a look at the bottom of this post for them). DownloadsII contains 5 hook locations for the vBulletin plugin systems, so you can add extra functionality without file edits. Do you want to help expanding DownloadsII (if you are a coder)? Hi all,
I have an issue during the installation. When I upload the "product-downloads.xml" file in product manager the installation never ended. I just find the menu "DownloadsII Options" in Vbulletin settings but I do not have new "Downloads" menu in my admincp. My admincp is renamed for security reasons, could it be the reason of this installation issue? Thanks in advance for your help. David |

Hi X-or,
Yes I have renamed the admincp before to upload the folder. I just uninstall and I received following errors during uninstall process: Invalid SQL: ALTER TABLE `vb_user` DROP `uploads`; Invalid SQL: ALTER TABLE `vb_user` DROP `comments`; It seems these fields have not been created during installation process... Does this creation can be very long depending of the number of members? David |

Hi,
I have migrated my forum to VB4.0.8 version and I am trying to install DownloadsII 6.0.6. I have exactly the same issue. Product installation does not end and no "Downloads" menu appears in ACP... I am disappointed... :-( I would like to transfer all Joomla remository downloads to this Vbulletin add on which seems excellent... Please help... David |

I love this mod, it's absolutely crucial to my forums success. But I'm having some problems with incredibly high server load.
It is release day today for Football Manager 2011 so my site has had about 2000+ people online constantly. With the Downloads II mod disabled the server load was about 19.5. After enabling it again the server load rocketed up to around 125-150 in under a minute! Are there any quick tips to help me optimize the downloads script as I can't have it killing my server. Currently running DownloadsII 5.1.0 on vBulletin 3.8.4 |

Sorry to post again but this is important. I understand you are busy (and probably concentrating on the v4 mod) but it is absolutely killing my server.
There are around 15,000 files downloaded a day. I have pruned the dl_downloads table as it had over 4.5 million rows so I assume this was taking a while to check for a users last download time. Any other optimisation tips would be fantastic, thanks. |
