DownloadsII
DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options. It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself. Instructions & Support Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions. It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions. Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod! You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt). I try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if I don't ask for them. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications. Screenshots & Live demo At the bottom of this post, you can find some screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software. You can find a live demo on my own site: Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch). Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it. Changelog (version 6.0.9) Jelle
Help!!! I can't upload large files?? This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home. Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values. Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system). Add-ons There are currently no official add-ons. Unofficial add-ons are listed below. Hi,
on my vbulletin 4.2.5, for about 1 month (without making any changes), when I try to use this mod, I read this error: Your command could not be processed because a security token was not valid. Can someone help me? |

I've been using DownloadsII for a long time and might need to shut my site down because the host just notified me that there is a forced PHP upgrade to 7.2, I discovered that VB 3.8 or 4.2 do not support PHP 7.2.
I have a license for VB5 but from what I gather, it looks like a DownloadsII database can't be imported and won't work with VB5. I have close to 4,000 downloads that I don't want to lose. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on any possible importing of the DownloadsII database, perhaps to a different cms? Did any of you move on to a different download system? Thank You |

In the past, some times, I think in upgrade vb 4.2.5 to 5.x, but this is (with others) reasons for not upgrade, Downloads II for me its important (not like you) but its important, and in vb 5.x I don't view any similar to Downloads II,,, This isn't only the reason for not upgrade, I have more reasons, but this reason, its important... Regards. |

Downloads II is only compatible up to vb 4.2.5, for vb 5.x it does not exist and there is no way to export / import the downloads generated by Downloads II in vb 5.x. If this were so, if there were Downloads II in vb 5.x maybe I would consider uploading to vb 5.x (but maybe, there are other buts that I would have to shuffle ...). I say this because the partner indicates he has a vb 5.x license. However, as you very well say, your solution would be to migrate from server, I am in a VPS and I can select the version of PHP that I want, even 5.x. If the partner's hosting forces him to move to PHP 7.2, he has that option, migrate from hosting to a VPS or similar where he himself selects the version of PHP he wants. |

Thanks for the information, I was just hoping there was a different Downloads program that could import DownloadsII and would work with PHP 7.2. I once tried vBDownloads but that also wouldn't work.
My site is a labor of love about my passion for pinball and in April would be 17 years old. I don't earn money but have rare donations that doesn't cover my shared dreamhost bill of $190.00 every 2 years. I looked at dedicated server pricing and that is not a option for me. I just started to look into a VPS (didn't know that you could select a php version) but due to my storage amount of over 30GB would have to pay $20.00 per month for the next VPS tier from dreamhost which would more than double my bill, don't think I could pay that amount but will try to find other VPS options. Any suggestions about VPS hosting plans? Thank You |
