DownloadsII
DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.
It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.
Instructions & Support
Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.
Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!
You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).
I try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if I don't ask for them. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications.
Screenshots & Live demo
At the bottom of this post, you can find some screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software.
You can find a live demo on my own site: Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch).
Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.
Changelog (version 6.0.9)
Jelle
Added support for vB 4.1.8 bit processing with 'each' construct (backwards compatible)
Fixed comma listing for vB 4.1.8 (using "old" method)
Older changelogs are included in the zip package.
Help!!! I can't upload large files??
This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.
Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).
Add-ons
There are currently no official add-ons. Unofficial add-ons are listed below.
Nope, vb5 has basically no mods since when they developed vb5 they removed the hook system that is used by virtually all complex mods for vb3/vb4 so they can't be ported to vb5 without making changes to the core code.
I Understand. Hopefully Coder put the batteries and start working for VBulletin 5!
I just upgraded from the vb3.x version of this - having an issue with the bulk import. I'm putting in my absolute path to the folder correctly, and the folder is 777 (along with all the files). When I go to do a bulk import, it doesn't find any files.
Why are you doing a bulk import? If you ran the upgrade script for upgrading from vb3 to vb4 then all your existing downloads should still be there. IIRC only two things aren't transfered when you upgrade from vb3 to vb4, the rating for each download and the file types you're allowing to be uploaded.

Thanks for the reply man. The upgrade script didn't work for me - I don't recall exactly what the failure was (I was doing a full upgrade from vb3 and there were plenty of DB errors that day). I have no problem if I lose the old descriptions - I still have the files and am just trying to point the new install at them and enter them by hand. I'm just not sure why the bulk uploader doesn't see any of the files that are there so that I can get started on it.
Edit: I re-ran the install/upload and upgrade script, and I'm good to go now. Not sure what I missed the first time around but I'm set. Cheers dude.
No, it will not work for any version vbulletin 5, same as pretty well all other modifications for vb4/vb3. This has been answered three times now on this page alone by me, including the post above yours. Please look to see if your question has been previously answered before asking it.

Starting with vb4.2 there's a new navigation manager, and the old method of adding tabs no longers works. Go to the navigation manager in admincp (acp->settings->navigation manager) and add in a tab to the downloads page.
So, in the adding a tab section, do you (or anyone) have any insight into what should go int the "Target URL" and "Tab Script" fields for this mod? It's been years since I've had to do anything like this and trying to get my brain familiar with how this all works again. So far no luck getting it to show up on my navigation bar.
Updated: solved. Should have just edited this instead of posting below, but haven't been on a forum in awhile. @_@
