DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.



Instructions & Support

Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.

Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!

You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.

Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).

Say you have a category called templates but you only want the usergroup called templates and template mods to access this category to have that option to add this for each category would make this alot better for site owners to sell access to each category.

You can already set rough category access permissions in the usergroup permissions. A full set of permissions per category is on my todo list.

Thanks Jelle! Man, I have been away a long time. But, looks like I'm going to get sucked back into the vb world!

I did the upgrade script, deleted the old files, then loaded the new ones but keep getting the following error when I import the product. I've reloaded the files multiple times. Any ideas? (I've darn near forgotten how vb works!)

Fixed! I went into the database and add the column phrasegroup_ecdownloads to the language table. That let the product install.

Hi Jelle,

I cannot upload large files. I tried to put the 2 recommended codes into my present .htaccess code as recommended by yr remedy but it caused 500 Internal Server Error.

Any advice?

Is it possible, somehow upload the large files using ftp and make the posting thread recognized the folder in the download area (instead of pressing upload button for uploading)?
