Major Additions - DownloadsII

DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.



Instructions & Support

Requires vBulletin 4.0.4 or higher. Not fully compatible with lower vB 4 versions.
It works fine with both the new editor in vB 4.1.4 or higher and the old one in previous vB versions.

Read the instructions in the next two posts before installing/upgrading this mod!

You can find an installation/upgrade manual in the zip package (Readme.txt).

Though keep in mind that we are running a restyled and modified version of it.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the most asked question. It's mostly caused by some default PHP settings: check "PHP Max Post Size" and "PHP Maximum Upload Size" at your AdminCP home.

Then have a look at this post for the solution to up these values.
Also have a look at this post at vB.com (but ignore the MySQL part as DownloadsII is only using the file system).

i cant seem to find maxchar for the filenames. tried looking at dl_main at the database but doenst show maxchar. any idea where i can find that?

When I use the include / exclude categories feature, it doesn't change anything. Anyone that has access to the downloads section can see all categories and download all files. It is most likely an issue on my end, but I have looked at it to my wits end trying to figure out what the issue is.

Everything else works perfectly. Thanks for the mod.

Hello, I have problem with import files,
nothing show when i write /downloads of course iside is a lot of files.
I have error:
Warning: opendir(/downloads) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in [path]/admincp/downloads2.php on line 691

Can you help me?

Users can't download any file! They can see them but they cant' download.

When I give them access to all categories, including the hidden one, the mod works perfectly.

Just the title field of the dl2_files table, pretty logical
+ Afterwards, you also need to change the maxlength in the downloads2_file_addit template.

You need to specify an absolute path (there's an example on the import page), not a relative path. Now you are specifying a downloads directory inside your AdminCP folder, which probably doesn't exist.

RSS support will be really useful if one wants to subscribe to new items added in download section.
If possible , you can use vb's inbuilt RSS functions and give two options..
RSS alone for download section
RSS included in main RSS of forum.

I am very keen to install it but just looking for RSS as will serve a good for it.
