Version 2.3.0 of LDM is now the official release. This works with both VB3.7 and VB3.8. You can obtain it here

Version 2.2.8 remains available here, with limited support.

What this is and does

LDM is a general-purpose link and file manager, which handles user uploads and downloads in a flexible way. A range of media players is integrated into LDM and others are included as plugin extras. LDM is described below in the first post of this thread, which also contains a brief list of the currently-known bugs.

This release of LDM works correctly with all VB versions 3.6.x and recent versions of vbadvanced.

The syntax error is in a plugin - you've built a modiied version of the wimpy plugin, I think - there must be a coding bug in there somewhere, something like an missing closing bracket on an 'if' clause, perhaps.

As a result, the plugin will be ignored completely, so you need to fix this first.

Is it possible to limit adding bonds to registered users with a minimum of post? I would like to add this option to control the spam and that alone users can write with but of 100 post.

Take a look in the release/extras/limit-useraccess directory in the zip file. There is a sample plugin, limitaccess-byposts-plugin.xml, which does what you want. You will have to configure it by editing the code - should be straightforward - let me know if you have problems.

Assuming that the plugin is working correctly(!!), if you installed it as supplied, then:

- it ignores all members of the administrator group
- it ignores all users with 10 or more posts

Anone else is limited to one download and one megabyte per day.

Users that are ignored by the plugin are still restricted by any limits that you impose on LDM/admin/bandwidth.

Only people who have access to your VB admincp can disable the plugin.

I understand that LDM stores uploaded files in a location different from that of attachment files uploaded into the vBulletin platform itself. One problem I am having is that I'm getting warning messages about MySQL quota limits: I would need ever-increasing amount of MySQL database quota to allow for the growing number of files uploaded via LDM. And this is something my host provider is not quite willing to do. It looks as if LDM is storing the files in the database itself, but different from where vBulletin stores its own attachments.

Now vBulletin has the ability to move the attachments from the database to the file system--which would avoid this MySQL database quota problem. Is there any way for LDM to do the same?

LDM does not store files in the database. It stores them in the file system.

What is held in the database are all the records of these files, and also a full record of all downloads. Usually, the LDM table that grows big is the 'downloads' table. You can prune this via LDM/admin/statistics

Ok, well I got YouTube working nicely, but I can't seem to get Google videos working at all.

The only other thing I've tried to do Andrew for YouTube, is set an icon for the file but it's not working. I altered the php code like so:

I've gone to LDM/admin/statistics, as suggested. But I can't find the 'downloads' table. And how do I prune it?
